MOMS Birthday
This week so far we have learned how to hear Gods voice and how the only way we can have eternity with him is if you have accepted Jesus, and from that moment the Bible says in Luke 8:21
Luke 8:21 ESV
21 But he answered them, “My mother and my brothers are those who hear the word of God and do it.”
1 Corinthians 15:1–5 ESV
1 Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, 2 and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you—unless you believed in vain. 3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, 5 and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve.
Main Idea: Our spiritual life starts from the moment you our saved
Point.
A. If you know that Jesus Christ died for each one of your sins and how he rose again on the third day. Then the Bible says you will have an eternity with him. If you have not made that decision I ask that you ask yourself why? Are you hearing Gods Voice?
B. We talked in our dorm devotional one night about how if someone says your name with an unfamiliar voice vs a familiar voice.
C.You don’t have to be saved during an invitation.(If his voice is unfamiliar then it all starts here admitting you are a sinner. There are people here you can talk to. Bro.Travis made a good point that this is probably the safest place to ask questions.
Transition: If you are saved your spiritual life doesn't stop there because God has a plan for you. Have you answered that call to whatever that plan is.
Mark 1:16–20 ESV
16 Passing alongside the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew the brother of Simon casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen. 17 And Jesus said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you become fishers of men.” 18 And immediately they left their nets and followed him. 19 And going on a little farther, he saw James the son of Zebedee and John his brother, who were in their boat mending the nets. 20 And immediately he called them, and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired servants and followed him.
Main Idea: God has a life set for you, God has a plan on how He wants you to serve him. You just have to answer that calling.
A. These men that God called didn't say ill think about it, maybe tomorrow(as we learned we may not even have a tomorrow)
B.If God was standing here today right now would you tell him no or follow him immediately.
C.Folks I have some news God is here, his presence is here, as we keep seeing people commit there life to God this week so far shows that God is working here right now at Pine Springs
Psalm 18:30 ESV
30 This God—his way is perfect; the word of the Lord proves true; he is a shield for all those who take refuge in him.
Psalm 18:30 KJV 1900
30 As for God, his way is perfect: The word of the Lord is tried: He is a buckler to all those that trust in him.
Transition: Y’all wanna know something cool, well get this. Oh boy do I have some news for you. J
Deuteronomy 31:6–8 ESV
6 Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.” 7 Then Moses summoned Joshua and said to him in the sight of all Israel, “Be strong and courageous, for you shall go with this people into the land that the Lord has sworn to their fathers to give them, and you shall put them in possession of it. 8 It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.”
Main Idea:God is always with us
A.When we leave this camp tomorrow God will be right there with you.
B.When something goes wrong and you cry out to God not only will he be there but he’s been there.(Be Specific)
C.We need God in our lives and once we have God in our lives the Bible says GO share the gospel to the people who don't have God. The beautiful thing is that it may be scary but God is not only with you but is with them as well.
Closing:
Share a bit of testimony(How you don’t have to be saved in a church or during an invitation)
Share experience with telling mammo and Good Shepard congratulating you
How my life has changed
(End with story)
If you are here this morning and you don’t know Jesus Christ as your savior talk to someone, if you are here and you know God is calling you to something special talk to someone don’t be afraid to ask, to pray...Jesus says “Do Not be Afraid for I am with you” and he is with you always.
