Welk I recognized some here know Sean better than Kayla and Kayla better then Sean so allow me to tell you how they got here

Kayla Story

Quiries Leche - says Kayla, my grandma calls my mom saying IDK what she’s saying, “Lethe Lethe” she wants milk. Kayla lived up the Bocanegra name and Mexican heritage even from a young age picking up Spanish from our nanny

As part of a family w/ 5 siblings & being the youngest daughter, she developed an empathetic and caring heart that values loyalty above all else.

she sees these qualities as ingrained in her by her parents and would like to thank them for prioritizing quality time, showing unconditional love, while having rules and boundaries that helped her to become a somewhat responsible adult

Sean Story

Sean has always loved music, ever since he was potty training. There were even times where lttle Sean would be waiting for help on the toilet and he would shout WIPE MY BUTT, but if his mom delayed he would take to music and sing WIPE MY BUTT

eventually she would come to help as always. In fact her help to Shawn stayed consistent through this childhood. He’d like to thank her for her complete selflessness in raising him. She often would go without so he could benefit.

Together Story

It was a warm September night, shawn with his date and kayla with hers made their way to the poway rodeo and onto the dance floor.

Though kayla was with her date she couldn’t stop looking at this “tall and hot” guy who was terrible at dancing.

Kayla left her date and cut in on sean’s dance and said “im going to help you out and teach you how to dance” Sean says he immediately noticed “her eyes”

So the two of them danced while their dates sat on the side and watched sparks fly

Through mutual friends the two later linked back up and got to know each-other more until they finally went on their first date to the most romantic location in southern California… WALMART - where they bought pumpkins, glow-sticks… and beer. The two never looked back from there.

Years went by sean had an identy crisis, he bought a boat, truck, cowboy hat, boots, started a country band, helps take care of the horses - yet still votes democrat.

Kayla continues to rub off on him and we are hopeful that the move to Tennessee will be the nail in the coffin of his political transformation.

It was after these years that shawn brought Kayla up to big bear, set up a camera on a timer and got his jacket zipper was stuck, he missed the timer, the ring was upside down, and he blanked on what to say… but again “He’s tall and hot” so she said yes

Now they plan on moving to Tenessee where shawn plans to get his PHD and they both hope to buy property, dogs and raise a family.

What better way to prepare for that then to get married today as an expression of their LOVE.

TRANSITION: Love is of course the necessary ingredient to make a good marriage and into this topic, the Bible speaks...

Gospel

1 John 4:8 “God is love.” & Rom 5:8 “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

You see Kayla is a beautiful, lovely and worthy Bride

But the truth is, we are not lovely, beautiful or worthy before God - we have all sinned against Him.

Could you imagine if Kayla came down the aisle with a dirty dress, hair a mess, frowning, resistant and looking forced to attend. Or if she didn’t show up at all?

This is not a picture of Kayla but a picture of us… running from God. Rom 5:8 “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

Jesus Christ, the glorious groom came down to us. He lived the perfect life we couldn’t live. He made the perfect sacrifice for our sins on the cross. He rose from the dead to declare final victory over our sin and death. When we come to Him by faith, He washes us clean, He gives us a new heart, He provides rest, joy, and hope for our weary souls. He sets his affection upon us and never let’s us go. This is the gospel, the good news story of Jesus. This is love

If you do not know Jesus Christ, this love calls you today to repent of your sins and believe in Jesus Christ alone for salvation.

Sean and a Kayla it’s this love that you are to have for one another, sacrificial, unconditional, exhaustive, promise keeping love.

can I have the rings

The wedding ring is a public and personal symbol of the marriage union.

The rings tell the watching world that both Sean and Kayla are taken, bound to each other by covenant before God and witnesses.

The rings are also a personal reminder for the couple, to remain faithful, remember their promise, and love one another unconditionally for the rest of their lives.
