1-The fool in Proverbs
1-The fool in Proverbs
He is “right in his own eyes” (12:15). Nobody considers himself a fool.
He “despises his father’s instructions” (15:5). One who considers his own judgment better than his father’s is a fool.
He “despises his mother” (15:20). Children who belittle their mothers are fools.
He “utters slander” (10:18). The gossiper is a fool.
He “refuses to turn away from evil” (13:19). The fool abhors repentance.
He “trusts in his own mind” (28:26).
He makes a mock at sin (14:9 KJV).
2-The fool in the New Testament
2-The fool in the New Testament
He exchanged “the glory of the immortal God for images” (Rom. 1:22–23).
He lays up “treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God” (Luke 12:21 ASV).
He rejects Jesus’ words and is building on sand (Matt. 7:26, 27).
Conclusion
Conclusion
“The word of the cross is to them that perish foolishness” (1 Cor. 1:18 ASV) because “fools make a mock at sin.” “Wherefore be ye not foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is” (Eph. 5:17 ASV).
