Purpose:
God has called all believers to carry out the Great Commission. Let’s be clear we are all on the same page. The Great commission is located in Matthew 28:16-20
Matthew 28:16–20 HCSB
The 11 disciples traveled to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had directed them. When they saw Him, they worshiped, but some doubted. Then Jesus came near and said to them, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
What I want you to notice is that in the Great Commission you will find no where-where Jesus mentions environmental situations.
What I mean is that Jesus did not say only make disciples when people were accepting.
He did not say only make disciples when the convenience of life allows.
I would argue on the contrary and that Scripture say’s differently. Matthew 10:16-22
Matthew 10:16–22 HCSB
“Look, I’m sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as serpents and as harmless as doves. Because people will hand you over to sanhedrins and flog you in their synagogues, beware of them. You will even be brought before governors and kings because of Me, to bear witness to them and to the nations. But when they hand you over, don’t worry about how or what you should speak. For you will be given what to say at that hour, because you are not speaking, but the Spirit of your Father is speaking through you. “Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child. Children will even rise up against their parents and have them put to death. You will be hated by everyone because of My name. But the one who endures to the end will be delivered.
God has called us to share his message of redemption, his message of salvation, and it’s not always going to be easy.
Paul tells Timothy in 2 Timothy 4:2
2 Timothy 4:2 HCSB
Proclaim the message; persist in it whether convenient or not; rebuke, correct, and encourage with great patience and teaching.
You must be ready to share the gospel at all times with godly patience, and we pray for the perfect environment, but there will be times that conditions may not be to out liken, but we must share and live the Gospel message
Today we are continuing our journey in the Book of Acts.
We see the church has been established
The Gospel has been preached
A man has been healed
Peter is now preaching to the crowd
We see a favorable environment become an unfavorable environment
Peter is Preaching to the people who want to hear what he has to say because of the Miracle they saw.
But word had gotten back to the powers that be and they confronted Peter because they provoked.
Why? The people were being taught
and teaching about the Resurrection
