Intro

In textual studies, a palimpsest is a manuscript page, either from a scroll or a book, from which the text has been scraped or washed off in preparation for reuse, in the form of another document.
One of the most famous is the Archimedes Palimpsest. In 950 AD, a copy was made of one of Archimedes works, and around 250 years later, it was scraped, washed and written over by a monk and used for a Christian writing. Fun fact, in 1906 a guy thought it had Archimedes works on it and took photographs of it. Also in 1998, it sold for $2M to an anonymous American buyer rumored to be Jeff Bezos.

Sin Written on the Heart

Jeremiah 17:1 “The sin of Judah is written down with an iron stylus; With a diamond point it is engraved upon the tablet of their heart And on the horns of their altars,”
Jeremiah 17:9 ““The heart is more deceitful than all else And is desperately sick; Who can understand it?”
Sin is more than something we do, it is the outward display of our hearts. In other words, our actions reflect who we really are.
