Ephesians 6:10-
Ephesians 6:10-13
Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world-rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places“Wherefore take up the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and, having done all, to stand.”
Ephesians 6:13 ASV b
ARE YOU WILLING TO FIGHT!
V. My brothers and my sisters we have to face many challenges on a day to day basis and I don't know about you but the biggest battle I see is with my own struggle staying on the right place with God..and the constant battle I have with myself and my own spiritual life and it's clear that if I don't have my own self right with God..If I don't have my own spiritual self right there is now way I can win the other battles..
B.How many can agree that we are fighting a constant battle...
II.And this battle is not with flesh and blood..
III. this Battle is not a physical fight and not a battle I fight with my fist or with Guns But this is a spiritual Battle...And the only way the saints win this battles is through prayer and spiritual warfare.
Zachariah 4:6
6 : 'Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,' says the Lord Almighty
i. 2 Corinthians 20:4 states The weapons of our warfare is not carnal but mighty through God through the pulling down of strongholds....
IV. just like any other Battle we fight the enemy desires to defeat us..and whatever tactics he can use..he will...
V. when we are prepared of the devils devices we will win. "This means war"
i. 2 Corinthians 2:11 states….Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices....
In other words when I know when the enemy comes I know how fight the enemy not in my flesh but in my spirit..
VI. This is a Spiritual Battle
In the spiritual realm. How many can attest that there will be times in our spiritual walk were we will be spiritually wounded and Spiritually hurt!!!
A. And sometimes this can be more detrimental than a fleshly wound because you can easily cure a wound in the flesh but it takes God To heal a spiritual wound!!!!
Do have anyone that can say my wounds don't define me?
A. And the more war wounds I have is a sign that God has covered And the more I can look at God had brought me out of each battle.
B. As a matter fact because I've been wounded is a sign that i can relate to Christ.
I. for the bible says in Isaiah 53:5
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.
II. You have to learn how to turn your hurt into fuel and spiritual ammunition to defeat the enemy!!!!
We have to learn how accept trouble..I've learned how to welcome trouble..Why? Because I know if there is trouble then there is God....David said in Psalms that he is a present help in time of trouble..
III. Tell somebody the more war wounds I have the more I can look at what God brought me through
VI. I'm just earning my stripes!!
We have to be in the frontline for Christ Because You gain strength with God not by the platform by but being on the frontline.
A. Notice the bible says be strong in the lord and in the power of HIS might.
I. In his might says that my fleshly body is to weak..to handle it with my own strength
II. Do I have anyone that can say if had not been for the lord in my side if it had not been for the power of his might I don't know were I would be.....
The text goes to say FOR WE WRESTLE NOT AGAINST FLESH AND BLOOD.
A. Let's look at the Wrestle Webster's dictionary define wrestles as
to fight by holding and pushing instead of hitting and kicking.
I. So this lets me know The flesh is fighting against our spirit and the spirit against our flesh.
II. The outcome of the this battle is the mastery over my life.
III. either I Will I be mastered by my flesh, or by the spirit.
B. Man a threefold being, body, soul, or mind and spirit.
1. When God created Adam, He created him spirit, soul, and body.
a. When the spirit rules you have fellowship with God.
b. The bible says God is a Spirit, and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.
c. When your flesh rules, then your fellowship with God is broken, for God will have nothing to do with your flesh. He has one order for the flesh, "Kill it"
a. My flesh relates through my senses to the world around me.
b. My spirit relates to God.
3. Note that the mind is always in the middle, if my flesh is ruling, then I have what is termed in the scripture as the mind of the flesh.
4. If my spirit is ruling, then I have the mind of the spirit, and His Spirit is bearing witness to my spirit that I am a son of God.
A. By no means is this a easy task...because when my mind is focusing on doing for God I have to block out everything..
B. Do I have anybody that can say it's a daily struggle
C. Paul said in Romans 7:21 every time I desire to do Good..Evil is always present And I have to constantly kill my desires in order to submit to Gods will...
5. Paul said that the mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the spirit is life, joy and peace.
6. Satan relates to my flesh, God relates to my spirit and they are at constant war..
A. But the good news is we will win in the end
B. You have to understand that even though the devil has schemes to defeat us if God is in our side we have the victory...
I. Tell somebody the Victory is already yours.
II. It may look like your defeated but God has. A plan
One of the greatest fighters Muhammad Ali...who was known for fighting and strategically defeating enemies..
A. people could not understand how he would win in such gracious fashion.
B. But Ali would use a strategy called the rop a dope rope-a-dope is used to describe strategies in which one party purposely puts itself in what appears to be a losing position, attempting thereby to become the eventual victor..
C. I came to let the enemy know that you thought I was out but guess what I'm getting ready to get my second
By speaking of the power of the enemy, Paul labors to keep us more on the alert Against principalities, against powers. Still, his object in producing alarm is not to fill us with fear , but to excite us to caution.
“Wherefore take up the whole armor of God,
“Stand therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; withal taking up the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: with all prayer and supplication praying at all seasons in the Spirit, and watching thereunto in all perseverance and supplication for all the saints,”
Ephesians 6:14-18 ASV
Paul tells the ephesians to put on Armour
