What kind of life leaves behind a life-giving legacy to others?

A Life Filled with God’s Spirit

From the start of his ministry Elisha sought a double portion of Elijah’s spirit. In reality, he was seeking the anointing of the Holy Spirit.
2 Kings 2:12 “And Elisha saw it and he cried, “My father, my father! The chariots of Israel and its horsemen!” And he saw him no more. Then he took hold of his own clothes and tore them in two pieces.”
Eph 5:18-19 “And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit, addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart,”

A Life that Serves Others at God’s Direction

Elisha knew that he “stood before the Lord”. He was accountable to God and could only speak or serve to others to please God.
2 Kings 7:1 “But Elisha said, “Hear the word of the Lord: thus says the Lord, Tomorrow about this time a seah of fine flour shall be sold for a shekel, and two seahs of barley for a shekel, at the gate of Samaria.””
