A Kingdom Man & His Personal Life
A Kingdom Man & His Personal Life
“The path to a better world begins with you. And me. It begins with us. You become a better man by aligning yourself under the comprehensive rule of God over every area of your life - under God’s kingdom agenda.”
What are the 4 Spheres of life of the Kingdom Man in Psalm 128?
Read it...
Psalm 128 (NIV)
1 Blessed are all who fear the Lord, who walk in obedience to him.
2 You will eat the fruit of your labor; blessings and prosperity will be yours.
3 Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house; your children will be like olive shoots around your table.
4 Yes, this will be the blessing for the man who fears the Lord.
5 May the Lord bless you from Zion; may you see the prosperity of Jerusalem all the days of your life.
6 May you live to see your children’s children— peace be on Israel.
In Psalm 128, David outlines the LIFE of a Kingdom Man into 4 spheres. Outline of Psalm 128:
The personal life of a kingdom man who fears the Lord (verse 1 and 2)
The family life of a kingdom man (verse 3 and 4)
The kingdom man in relation to the church (verse 5a)
The kingdom man and his community (verse 5b and 6)
“First and foremost, the blessing comes when a kingdom man fears the Lord and walks in His ways in his personal life.”
It Starts with YOU

What can we learn from the example of Tony Evans’ father?
Mr. Evan was a kingdom man who feared God.
He never left his wife and family. Consistent in providing for his family in spite of the challenges within the community. His family was a priority. He never complained. Never blamed no one. He truly loved his wife expressed in words and actions. Consistent and fervent in his prayer life. Intentional in his involvement with each of his 4 children. Instilled a long range view of life in his children. That God had always more in store for them.
The Blessing of Fearing God
The Blessing of Fearing God
What does Scripture say about “blessings”?
A blessing refers to the favor and goodness of God that has been designed to flow to you and through you.
Acts 20:35 (NLT)
35 And I have been a constant example of how you can help those in need by working hard. You should remember the words of the Lord Jesus: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ”
Why are we blessed?
Giving makes us a conduit that blesses and uses to bless others. Receiving makes us a cul-de-sac!
We are blessed because whatever God does for us does not stop with us. We seek to further that blessing over to others. This is the formula outlined for us in reference to being blessed.
Luke 6:38 (NLT)
38 Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.”
What does it mean to “fear” the Lord?
The word FEAR is YARE in Hebrew. Yare combines the concepts of both dread and awe. These 2 words equate to taking God seriously by coming under His rule in such a way that you hold Him in the highest esteem.
To fear God simply means to take God seriously, as opposed to taking God casually.
How then should we go about “living in the fear of God?
Living in the fear of God means to acknowledge Him as Lord over your life and align your actions, words, and thoughts accordingly.

What was Malachi’s message to his hearers of old and today?
Read it...
Malachi 1:6–9 (NLT)
6 The Lord of Heaven’s Armies says to the priests: “A son honors his father, and a servant respects his master. If I am your father and master, where are the honor and respect I deserve? You have shown contempt for my name! “But you ask, ‘How have we ever shown contempt for your name?’
7 “You have shown contempt by offering defiled sacrifices on my altar. “Then you ask, ‘How have we defiled the sacrifices?’ “You defile them by saying the altar of the Lord deserves no respect.
8 When you give blind animals as sacrifices, isn’t that wrong? And isn’t it wrong to offer animals that are crippled and diseased? Try giving gifts like that to your governor, and see how pleased he is!” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.
9 “Go ahead, beg God to be merciful to you! But when you bring that kind of offering, why should he show you any favor at all?” asks the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.
Malachi’s message to his hearers of old and today:
The Lord of Heaven’s Armies wants, desires, and demands that we take Him seriously. That we give Him the fear, honor, and respect that is due to Him.
Read Malachi 1: verses 6-9
What was God referring to when He talked about His name? Are we casual about God?
When God talks about His name, He did not just chose a name for Himself. His name reflects and represents His person and His position. In Malachi, He was saying that they were not recognizing the uniqueness of His personhood or His position. They were not holding His name at the level that His name represents. Again, to fear God simply means to take God seriously, as opposed to taking God casually.
A good way to bring this principle to light is through electricity.
