For the past week my son had been asking me to go swimming. Unfortunately, it has been raining at different times all week. However, I made sure that I took him yesterday for an hour. I try to make sure that I can fully commit before I give a definitive answer to our kids because I do want to create a habit of saying yes and not delivering on my promise. Have you ever faced a situation in your life when you depended on someone to keep their promise, only to find out, they were not trust worthy. It can be truly disappointing when you have your hopes up and you get excited about the possibilities, but then you realize it is not going to happen. Exodus 6:9 says that the Israelites did not believe Moses because they had an anguish or broken spirit. The Hebrew the word for anguish is means shortness or impatient. Somewhere down the line the Israelites were short of patience, due to hard labor, mistreatment and in their minds, being let down. The Hebrew foremen told Moses that he should have just left them alone, but it was all his fault that they were now in a worse situation than before. Moses became frustrated with God. If we are honest with ourselves, their are moments when we feel let down as well. Moments when it just don’t look good. We get frustrated with God and we feel like God is not moving as quick as we would like for Him to move. This is where we draft our title for this mornings discussion, “It don’t look good, but I am holding on to God’s Promises”! We are able to witness four things in this passage, Pronouncement, Promise, Panic and Production.

Conclusion
There are times when it will seem like God has forgotten about us. we must remember that God has a plan and He will deliver on His Promise! A blessing delayed is not a blessing denied. Romans 8:31 says what shall we say to these things! If God be for us, who shall come against us. I know things have not been going the way you have plan them. However, please know that God is not slack. There is a plan and He will see you through. It don’s look good, but I am holding on to God’s Promises!
