Kingdom OVER Common
Main Scripture: Romans 12:2 “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”
Today, we dive into the transformative power of the Kingdom Mindset - a divine perspective that transcends worldly views, enables transformation, and positions us in alignment with God’s will.
Point 1: Challenge Yourself to See Things Differently
Scripture Reference: Isaiah 55:8-9 - "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD. "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts."
Explanation: Shifting our perspective isn't an easy task. We need to constantly challenge ourselves to see things through God's eyes and not our own. This requires us to go against the grain of societal norms and to seek God's wisdom above all else.
Point 2: Challenge Yourself to Embrace Transformation
Scripture Reference: 2 Corinthians 3:18 - "And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit."
Explanation: Transformation is often a challenging process, but it is essential for our spiritual growth. When we embrace transformation, we allow God to mold us into His image, leading to a life of ever-increasing glory.
Point 3: Challenge Yourself to Align with God's Will
Scripture Reference: Matthew 6:10 - "Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven."
Explanation: One of the most significant challenges believers face is aligning their desires with God's will. We are called to pray and strive for God's kingdom and His will, not our own. This alignment brings about the manifestation of God's kingdom on earth.
Point 4: Challenge Yourself to Reject Worldly Patterns
Scripture Reference: 1 John 2:15 - "Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them."
Explanation: The world offers a variety of patterns and structures that can be tempting to follow. Yet, we are called to reject these worldly patterns in favor of God's kingdom principles. This is a continuous challenge that requires diligent effort and spiritual discernment.
Relevant Biblical Account: The life of the Apostle Paul serves as a powerful testament to these challenges. Once a persecutor of Christians, Paul dramatically transformed into a bold proclaimer of the Gospel, rejecting worldly patterns, and devoting his life to doing God's will (Acts 9:1-22).
Compelling Closing Story: Consider the story of Moses leading the Israelites out of Egypt (Exodus 14). When they reached the Red Sea with the Egyptian army closing in, it seemed they were trapped. Yet, Moses challenged the Israelites to shift their perspective from the imminent danger to God's power. In the midst of this terrifying situation, Moses proclaimed, "Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today" (Exodus 14:13). Here, Moses exhibits a Kingdom Mindset, aligning with God's will and defying worldly logic. As we know, God parted the Red Sea, providing a miraculous escape route for the Israelites and demonstrating His supreme power over worldly circumstances.
