Theme Interpretation
In His Image
Ask: What is an image?
Dictionary.com: “a physical likeness or representation of a person, animal, or thing, photographed, painted, sculptured, or otherwise made visible.”
Show photo of Bob on phone
Ask: Is this actually Bob?
Photo not the real person
Can’t speak, think, act, etc
But it shows much about the person and what they are like
Learning about being created in His image
NOT God, but created to be like him and reflect His attributes
Created to be perfect
But sin distorted image
God sent His perfect image to restore God’s image in us
Theme verse
2 Corinthians 3:18 ESV
18 And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.
Ask: How can we as a youth group be a reflection of Christ at camp and when we get back home?
