9 Now concerning brotherly love you have no need for anyone to write to you, for you yourselves have been taught by God to love one another, 10 for that indeed is what you are doing to all the brothers throughout Macedonia. But we urge you, brothers, to do this more and more, 11 and to aspire to live quietly, and to mind your own affairs, and to work with your hands, as we instructed you,
Men must work!
One of the greatest threats of a man’s character is his unchecked ambition.
We must learn to be and STAY content with what God has given us.
True manliness is not who much you can drink or who many women you’ve slept with OR EVEN what you can accomplish in your carrier … It is how well you provide for your family and those around you.
Men contribute, boys take
“aspire to live quietly, and to mind your own affairs, and to work with your hands”
Our culture is always pushing us to more and more and more. There’s more money, there’s a better job, there’s a prettier girl, there’s something greater somewhere.
Even Christians can fall into this — “if your dream doesnt scare you then it isnt big enough!!”
I mean, maybe! Sure!!
But that’s not a guarantee and that’s not for everyone!
The grass is never really greener.
Elisha — why isn’t it enough

Did you know Mother’s day is statistically the highest attendance - behind Christmas and easter
the holiday with the lowest attendance?? Statistically speaking (a study done by Lifeway) is Father’s Day.
If a mother does not go to church, but a father does, a minimum of two-thirds of their children will end up attending church. In contrast, if a father does not go to church, but the mother does, on average two-thirds of their children will not attend church.
When dad consistently goes to church, 93% of families will follow.
When mom consistently goes to church, 17% of families will follow.
When kids consistently goes to church, 3.5% of families will follow.
1 in 7 men and 1 in 10 women in the US don’t have a single friend.
In 1990, 40% of men said they had over 10 friends. Today that stat is 15%.
70% of suicides are men
What does all this mean?
Men in our society are taking a back seat — and we feel the pain of that.
We need each other more than ever
