The World had been broken

SO YESTERDAY

we talked about how God had created the world,

What did he create raise your hands!

So God created all these things and also you and me. But God gave Adam and Eve the first people some jobs to do and some rules to follow.

Adam and Eve were told to name all the creatures, every single animal they were supposed to name.

They were also told to take care of the land and the animals.

However they were not supposed to eat of a certain tree. This tree was the tree in the middle of the garden and was the tree thats fruit would give them the knowledge of Good and Evil.

SO here is my one rule today DON’T eat the apple.

Whatever you do don’t eat the apple, it’s my apple, don’t eat my apple or else. Just please don’t eat my apple, I am going to trust you guys not to do that, I am saving it for later so don’t eat it.

HOWEVER things when wrong.

Listen to this in Genesis:

Genesis 3:1–3 NIV

Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?” The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’ ”

This serpent was sneaky, can you all make a hissing sound?

So the SSSSSNEAKY SSSSSNAKE was trying to trick Eve by asking questions to make the answer really hard.

So imagine you are in your cabin and your cabinleader says everyone should sit in their own bunk.

Now that line is very simple, but what if you are laying down in someone elses bunk? What if it bunk beds and you are in the bunky below yous bed, that still counts?

See the Serpant was trying to be really tricky.

So Eve ate the fruit of the tree!!!

She broke God one and only rule don’t eat the fruit!

HOWEVER GUESS WHAT HAPPENED NEXT

Genesis 3:6 NIV

When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.

She thought the fruit was really yummy and so she gave it to her Husband Adam and HE ate the fruit!!!!

WAHT IS HAPPENING

BUT GUESS WHAT HAPPENED WHEN ADAM ATE THE FRUIT

Genesis 3:7 NIV

Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.

THE WERE NAKED !!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHH

EVERYONE SAY GROSS!

Yeah so Adam and Eve were naked and they realized it becuase they knew all about good and evil they knew what was right and what was wrong and so they became embrassed to be naked infront of God.

So guess what happened. God came back to the Garden to go for a walk. SO THEY NEEDED TO HIDE

EVERYONE PUT YOUR HANDS INFRONT OF YOUR FACE

So Adam and Eve hide from God, they were scared because they knew God would be mad at them.

Has anyone ever gotten in trouble and hide from someone?

See God was wondering where they were he wanted to hang out with them.

Genesis 3:9–11 NIV

But the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?” He answered, “I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid.” And he said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?”

They did, the broke the rules and now God knew that they broke the rules. What happens when people break the rules? the get consequences.

So God gave Adam and Eve consequences,

The first was that life would be a bit harder

The seconad was they would be kicked out of their home in the garden they made

The worst of all and this consequence was not given by God, was that Sin would come into the world.

Sin is all that bad stuff in live, like Lieing or stealing, being a bully or hurting someone else. The thing about sin is that sometimes you don’t mean to do bad things but you do by accident and that was all because Adam and Eve choose to break that very first rule in the garden of Eden that the whole world has sin and has trouble making bad choices.

God never wanted it to be that way, God wanted the garden to be this perfect place but becuase of SIN the garden could not be that perfect place.

So God kicked them out! EVERYONE RUN AROUND THE BUILDING AND COME BACK IN HERE!

OK SO GOD KICKED THEM OUT and ADAM AND EVE BROUGHT SIN IN TO THE WORLD. BUT this happened soooooo long ago what does that mean.

It means that this world we live in and this picture that we painted on the pot is broken!!!!

See for us that means the our lives are messy kinda like this:

There are really hard parts of life, things that really suck. Breaking a bone or scrapping your knee. Your friends being mean or not wanting to be friends anymore, bullies, parents making you wash the dishes or clean your room as a punishment.

These are all things that come from the mess sin. Sin is things that go against what God’s plan is, Sin is the farthest thing away from God.

Becuase we have sin it means that we can’t be close to him, But God has a plan, remeber we are talking about God’s plan for you and so we are going to leave the story here but God still has a plan for you and we are just at the beginning of the story, there is still a lot of story to be told and we will learn about a really cool guy named Abraham tonight.
