How to Make Church Exciting

Acts 2:41-47

People today have their own opinion of what Church should be like.  Many today have even gone as far as to create their own church in their own way.  What is Church?  According to the New Testament, the Word Church in the Greek is ekklesia, which is defined as “called out,” ek “out,” kaleo “to call or literally to call out a gathering; an assembly; a congregation.

Unger’s Bible Dictionary has this to say about the Church.  The word church is employed to express various ideas, some of which are scriptural, others not. It may be used to signify:

(1)   The entire body of those who are saved by their relation to Christ

(2)   A particular Christian denomination

(3)   The aggregate of all the ecclesiastical communions professing faith in Christ

(4)   A single organized Christian group

(5)   A building designated for Christian worship

The Word of God says that Christ is the head of the ChurchEphesians 5:23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.

The Word of God says the Church belongs to ChristMatthew 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Þ     Come to Church Expecting God to speak to you personally

VERSE 44-45: BRING SOMETHING WITH YOU WHEN YOU COME:  What do you mean, “Bring Something with Me”?  Here are a few things you can bring with you when you come to Church.
