Specify the Apologetic Topic.
To be dead to sin and alive to Christ requires a new way of living. (Romans 6) A way of living that is not depend on on our own strength of the flesh, but one that is empowered and awaken unto life through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Tell the Topic’s Significance.
How do we as believers live a Holy life unto God, when we live in a fallen world?
God has called us 1 Peter 1:15-16
But as the one who called you is holy, you also are to be holy in all your conduct; for it is written, Be holy, because I am holy.
The Source of our Holiness is God.
We are made white as snow by the blood of Jesus, who is God’s provision for our sin, and we are empowered to live Holy through His Spirit.
Explain the Biblical and Rational Position.
The Spirit empowers us to Live a new Resurrected Life. The Flesh battles the Spirit.
Now if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit gives life because of righteousness. And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, then he who raised Christ from the dead will also bring your mortal bodies to life through his Spirit who lives in you.
Paul describes the two parts of us that are locked in a spiritual battle: the inner person and the outer flesh. They are not physically distinct or separable. Romans 8:10 provides the clearest description: the flesh/outer person is dead because of sin, but the Spirit has made our inner person alive and it dwells there.

We have the Spirit that raised Christ from the dead at work in us now. It isn’t a future event, but now we can live a resurrected life.

Our essential resource in our Life is the Holy Spirit.

I say, then, walk by the Spirit and you will certainly not carry out the desire of the flesh.
If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit.

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God;
But God has given us the source of Power to live a life of Holiness
His divine power has given us everything required for life and godliness through the knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.
