Romans 5:6–8 ESV
6 For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— 8 but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

1. I am not strong enough to fix my sin problem on my own.

weak:
We couldn’t fix it. Plus we were not strong enough to resist sin.

2. No human is capable of the kind of love it would require to fix my sin problem.

God loved the unlovable
Applications
Let’s look to God for the love we all crave!
Not a boyfriend or girlfriend.
Not parents or grandparents. Or sisters and brothers.
Let’s ask God to help us to love people who are unlovable.
If we are honest, we are all sometimes a little unlovable. Unlovable people find it hard to love others. That’s why we need to ask God to change us!
If someone makes you mad, count to ten before you respond. While you are counting, PRAY
Let’s do our very best to not love the thing that God hates: SIN
Admit you sometimes love to sin: Be rude, make dirty jokes, judge people harshly, gossip.
Confess this to God, ask Him to help you change, and then live out the change you asked him to give you.
