Scripture reading that was read this morning came from Kings James, PSALM 78 focus on verse 72.
As we pause here let us pray.
Psalm 78:72, Reads!
So he fed them according to the integrity of his heart;
And guided them by the skilfulness of his hands.

For a sub topic I like to used the D'S OF LEADERSHIP .
The D'S OF LEADERSHIP
The D'S OF LEADERSHIP
We know from the previous Sundays that this psalm is a psalm of history. It is a narrative of the great mercies God had bestowed upon Israel, the great sins. Wherewith they had provoked God, and the many tokens of his displeasure they had been under for their sins . This morning our focus is on Christians leadership power the ,Distinctive difference.
Here in psalm 78-72 . David has been appointed leader over God chosen people. And the bible said, So he fed them according to the integrity of his heart, and he guided them by skillfulness of his hand. Integrity of heart ,that is to say that integrity of heart means being pure, truthful, honest, holy in our heart which is the engine room of our thoughts, imagination, plans, desires, our likes and dis likes that's why in scripture ,proverbs 4: 23 says
Keep thy heart with all diligence;
For out of it are the issues of life.
Then their is the way he led them .he led them with a skillful hand. Which is to say skillful in physical movement; especially of the hands.
Focusing on leadership, God is the Ultimate leader, and HE CALLS EVERY believer to be a leader .GOD has established the foundation for every believer to abide by, and the standards in how we as believers should live. The difference between secular leadership and Christian leadership is that Christian leaders are always looking to God for guidance, while secular leaders may or may not believed in God. Christian leaders tend to be more servant minded, focused on meeting the needs of others rather than on their own personal gain. Christian leaders are called to lead according to biblical principles, while secular leaders may or may not have any moral compass .this can be a challenge at times, as secular leaders may not see eye to eye with Christian on important issues. However, it is important for Christian leaders to remember that they are called to love their neighbor even if they don't agree with them. The Christian leader has a distinct advantage over the secular , we have access to unlimited power.
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
The bible according to 1 John 4:4 tells us
Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
[ And of that power ] the bible also says Greater he that is in me than he that is in the world.
The Distinctive difference of Christian leadership power, we have been called to tell of God's Goodness and mercies, to be doers of God word , to walk as a living epistle.
Key Points
Key Points
We should be Discipline.
We should be Discipline.
1. As Distinctive Christian leaders.
In psalm 78 ;1-9
Here the psalmist call the attention to give ear ,to listen to what he was saying , gave them a warning not to be like their fathers who rebel against God , who's hearts were far from God . brought to the attention not to be un discipline . He tells them to teach God's sayings to their children that they might teach it to their children even to the un born in generations to commend them to be faithful to God and trust him not to be un discipline like the children of Ephraim , they had strong men who knew how to used their weapons . When it came time to fight , they did not trust God they turned and ran .
Trusting God is being discipline, it's knowing in times of trouble he will fight your battles God will take care of his own. This message in this psalm applies to us today , we might not get everything we do in life right. but putting our faith and trust in God we can be come discipline leaders .
leaders
Should not be so serious ,we must be approachable . No matter how serious your work is you must have a balance.
In the book of Ecclesiastes.
To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die;
A time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
The question is asked in
Malachi 3:2 “But who may abide the day of his coming? And who shall stand when he appeareth? For he is like a refiner’s fire, and like fullers’ soap:”
The leader that has integrity their life and words match.
The leader who is just, they rejects dishonest gain.
The leader that has conviction ,their values won't allow them to accept bries.
The leader who is positive focus, he or she refuses to dwell on destructive issues.
The leader who disciplines their mind to remain pure and clean .
The leader that is secure ,who is firm and stable in their identity, and knows where their strengths and hope comes from Leaders that are willing to put their faith in christ. Brings discipline.
We should be dedicated.
We should be dedicated.
As Distinctive Christian leaders We should be dedicated.
Here in psalm 78 verses 10-59 .the psalmist shows God's dedication to his people he gives notation on all that God had done , God stood the red sea up in too two walls he dried the ground and led his people across , he protected them with a cloud by day and a wall of fire by night , he drowned Israel aggressor in the red sea , God fed them angle food (manner ) from heaven he gave them water in the desert, but they were not dedicated to God , they worship engraving images, others Gods , they complained against him they mummer against him , they continued to sin against God , out of all God had done for his chosen people , to them it was not good enough they questioned if he could provide a table in the desert , in there hearts they were far from God they pushed him.
But God still showed his dedication for his people
But he, being full of compassion, forgave their iniquity, and destroyed them not:
Yea, many a time turned he his anger away,
And did not stir up all his wrath.
Psalm 78:38 “But he, being full of compassion, forgave their iniquity, and destroyed them not: Yea, many a time turned he his anger away, And did not stir up all his wrath.”
As leaders, weather in the home , in the community ,in the church , or on the job we should represent God . As believers we should be dedicated to what we believe
Every year we have our consecration service where we as leaders are set aside for the work in the kingdom of God. As we dedicate our lives to God to God's services , we give ourselves to be servants in his vineyard .
Here in the book of Psalms 78:5-8 reads
For he established a testimony in Jacob,
And appointed a law in Israel,
Which he commanded our fathers,
That they should make them known to their children:
That the generation to come might know them, even the children which should be born;
Who should arise and declare them to their children:
That they might set their hope in God,
And not forget the works of God,
But keep his commandments:
And might not be as their fathers,
A stubborn and rebellious generation;
A generation that set not their heart aright,
And whose spirit was not stedfast with God.
David was anointed around 15 years old . He was dedicated by Samuel to be king over Israel.
We don't know what the future holds for our lives ,we have to look at our pass and choose, to walk on by faith in the service of God. The bible goes on to say some years later that David was appointed king over Israel, and he led them with a heart of integrity and a skillful hand. When you know who you are and your purpose , it will give you the ability to press on , to reach beyond the breaks in life,
Be Determine
Be Determine
Distinctive christian leaders Should be determine
Moreover he refused the tabernacle of Joseph,
And chose not the tribe of Ephraim:
But chose the tribe of Judah,
The mount Zion which he loved.
And he built his sanctuary like high palaces,
Like the earth which he hath established for ever.
He chose David also his servant,
And took him from the sheepfolds:
God shows his steadfastness each and every day , and he changes not . God gave us directions for our lives . He showed us how we should live . Through Jesus Christ God's only son he walk here on this earth thirty three years , showing us how we should live .
Through God's grace and mercy each and every day he shows his determination to have a people that is willing to honored and love him and obey his will .
Being discipline is to understand your pass , not to follow in the footsteps of the un godly know who we serve understand who God is , understand that he changes not what he has done for others he will do the same for you .
Being dedicate is knowing that God gave his only begotten son that whosoever believe in him should not parish but shall have ever lasting life . That's how much God is dedicated to us.
Being as Christian
Being a determined leader we should understand that we will not get everything right. Even as baptized believers , when things go wrong, many times we look to put the blame on someone else . This started with Adam and eve . When God asked Adam what he had done ,he said it was eve's fault then when he ask eve she said it was the snake fault, the same thing happens even today. We should be able to look at our failure as leaders, objectively , think about why you failed , ask yourself what lesson have I learned , how can I turn my failure into a success ,where did I succeed as well as fell ,people who blame others for their failures never over come them . To be a determined leader and reach your potential , you must continually improve your self , A determined leader will take responsibility for their actions.
As leaders , we should not have hidden agendas ,leaders need to show the team's vision clearly ,creativity , and continually .
Implications and Applications
Implications and Applications
Clarity brings understanding to the vision ,
This is how we as ushers ,armor bearer ,choir members and trustee's deacons, and ministers become distinctive Christian leaders.
Following Christ is a choice. He is the best choice . He leads and guides us each and every day.
Not my will but thy will be done , I'm determine to make heaven my home, What ever we need God got. If we follow him ,one day we shall see him.
1 Corinthians 15:52 “In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.”
Oh my brother and my sisters Psalms 121: 1-2 “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, From whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, Which made heaven and earth.”
David said in Psalms 23 1-6 “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: And I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.”
The song writer said living Jesus loved me dying he save me buried he carried my sins far away rising he justified and freed me forever.
Conclusion
Conclusion
In closing, my brothers and sisters, let us remember the words of the psalmist and the call to distinctive Christian leadership. As we stand on the shoulders of those who have gone before us, let us embrace the qualities of discipline, dedication, and determination in our journey.
May we be disciplined leaders, rooted in the truth of God's Word, and steadfast in our commitment to walk in integrity and trust in His provision. May our lives reflect the harmony of approachability and seriousness, finding balance in every season and every purpose.
Let us be dedicated leaders, following in the footsteps of our Heavenly Father who showed unwavering dedication to His people. May we, too, be devoted to the work of the Kingdom, serving with compassion and forgiveness, leading with love and grace.
And finally, may we be determined leaders, knowing that our failures do not define us, but rather our ability to rise and learn from them. Let us take responsibility for our actions, keeping our vision clear, our creativity flowing, and continually seeking the guidance of the One who never changes.
As we go forth from this place, let us carry the distinctiveness of Christian leadership with us. Let our lives be living testimonies, walking epistles that speak of God's goodness and mercy. And in all things, let us lift our eyes to the hills, for our help comes from the Lord who made heaven and earth.
With hearts full of gratitude and voices lifted in praise, let us continue this journey together, united in purpose and bound by the love of our Savior. For He is the one who loved us, saved us, and will one day welcome us home.
May His grace and peace be with you always. Amen.
