1 Chronicles 15:29
1 Chronicles 15:29 NASB95
29 It happened when the ark of the covenant of the Lord came to the city of David, that Michal the daughter of Saul looked out of the window and saw King David leaping and celebrating; and she despised him in her heart.

Introduction:

A man was traveling down the streets of a large city and stopped at a stop light. He looked off to his right and saw two boys fighting in an alley. One boy was quite a bit bigger than the other boy and was consequently knocking the tar out of the little fellow. He would punch the smaller boy, and blood would fly from the boy’s nose, but he would get right back up to receive another punch. The traveler decided he had to intervene. He stopped his car and ran over, yelling for the big boy to quit beating up on the little guy. But it was the little fellow who responded. He said, “Hey mister, mind your own business. I ain’t got my second wind yet, and when I do I am going to clobber this guy.” You can’t lick a guy who won’t stay down. Proverbs says, “The just man falls seven times yet rises up again.”
I speak over everyone in this place that your 2nd wind is coming
I’m not going to stay down. I’m Bout it, Bout it....
The phrase “Bout It” can also be used as a filler when no logical explanation can be attained.

Setup:

David had already made one attempt to move the Ark to Jerusalem, and he had failed in that attempt. He had failed because he had moved the Ark incorrectly.
He had not followed the clear instructions of the LORD, instructions that had been laid down generations before.
But now David did things right, exactly as the LORD had instructed. He made very careful preparations before he approached the Ark to move it.
David was again stirred to bring the Ark of God to Jerusalem; therefore, he began to make preparations for its relocation.
What stirred him to make a second attempt was seeing the blessings of God upon the household of Obed-Edom, in whose home... 1 Chr 13:13 So David did not take the ark with him to the city of David, but took it aside to the house of Obed-edom the Gittite.
God’s blessing was a strong indication to David that God’s anger had subsided, quieted down. David’s heart was burning with passion to bring the symbol of God’s presence to the capital city.

Points:

B - Believe

1 Chronicles 15:25 NASB95
25 So it was David, with the elders of Israel and the captains over thousands, who went to bring up the ark of the covenant of the Lord from the house of Obed-edom with joy.
Our failure lies in want of faith, not in excess of it. It would be hard to believe God too much: it is dreadfully common to believe him too little. According To Promise, Page 89
Charles Spurgeon
The issue of faith is not so much whether we believe in God, but whether we believe the God we believe in.
R. C. Sproul; R. C. Sproul Jr.
Mark 9:23 NASB95
23 And Jesus said to him, “ ‘If You can?’ All things are possible to him who believes.”

O - Overcome (Outlook is going to be different)

1 Chronicles 15:26 NASB95
26 Because God was helping the Levites who were carrying the ark of the covenant of the Lord, they sacrificed seven bulls and seven rams.
God does not give us overcoming life: He gives us life as we overcome. The strain is the strength.
Luke 22:31–32 NASB95
“Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has demanded permission to sift you like wheat; but I have prayed for you, that your faith may not fail; and you, when once you have turned again, strengthen your brothers.”
Oswald Chambers
One who gains strength by overcoming obstacles possesses the only strength which can overcome adversity.
Albert Schweitzer
John 16:33 NASB95
33 “These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.”

U - Underestimated

2 Samuel 6:13–15 (NASB95)
13 And so it was, that when the bearers of the ark of the Lord had gone six paces, he sacrificed an ox and a fatling. 14 And David was dancing before the Lord with all his might, and David was wearing a linen ephod.
Does this mean that David himself served in some capacity as a priest before the LORD? Apparently so, for he was wearing priestly clothes. surprisingly even the linen ephod.
This is significant, for the ephod was used only by the High Priest when he offered sacrifices at the altar.
In seeing David perform this function, the reader must remember that the worship of the LORD had been sadly neglected since the days immediately following Joshua’s service to the nation.
Between now and December is 6 months. There’s a praise that’s going to be released in this house that no logical explanation can be attained.
Never underestimate the guidance you give by the words you speak or do not speak.
Warren W. Wiersbe

T - Truth (Faith will win)

1 Chronicles 13:9–10 NASB95
9 When they came to the threshing floor of Chidon, Uzza put out his hand to hold the ark, because the oxen nearly upset it. 10 The anger of the Lord burned against Uzza, so He struck him down because he put out his hand to the ark; and he died there before God.
James 1:1–4 NASB95
1 James, a bond-servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, To the twelve tribes who are dispersed abroad: Greetings. 2 Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. 4 And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
Trials are the winds which root the tree of our faith.
Charles Spurgeon
In shunning a trial we are seeking to avoid a blessing.
Charles Spurgeon

IT - No logical explanation can be attained.
