BEING GUIDED IS IMPORTANT
How is a car guided? By the steering wheel.
How is a boat guided? By the rudder
When the Pharisees heard that he had silenced the Sadducees, they came together. And one of them, an expert in the law, asked a question to test him: “Teacher, which command in the law is the greatest?”
He said to him, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and most important command. The second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets depend on these two commands.”
Love the LORD your GOD = Worship
Love your neighbor as yourself = Minister
Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Go, therefore, and make disciples = Evangelize
Baptizing them = Fellowship
Teaching them to obey = Discipleship
WORSHIP = LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD
MINISTER = LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF
EVANGELIZE = GO THEREFORE, AND MAKE DISCIPLES
FELLOWSHIP = BAPTIZING THEM
DISCIPLESHIP = TEACHING THEM TO OBEY
WORSHIP = LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD
Therefore, brothers and sisters, in view of the mercies of God, I urge you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God; this is your true worship.
not neglecting to gather together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging each other, and all the more as you see the day approaching.
MINISTER = LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF
“ ‘For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat; I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink; I was a stranger and you took me in; I was naked and you clothed me; I was sick and you took care of me; I was in prison and you visited me.’
“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and take you in, or without clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick, or in prison, and visit you?’
“And the King will answer them, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
What does all of the people have incommon? They all had a need.
How where they ministred to? Their needs was met by someone.
Who was the one who ministred to them? The person and Christ.
EVANGELIZE = GO THEREFORE, AND MAKE DISCIPLES
As he was walking along the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon (who is called Peter), and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the sea—for they were fishermen. “Follow me,” he told them, “and I will make you fish for people.” Immediately they left their nets and followed him.
Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee, and his brother John. They were in a boat with Zebedee their father, preparing their nets, and he called them. Immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him.
“I will make you fish for people”
“Follow me” This is what we are to say.
Imitate me, as I also imitate Christ.
FELLOWSHIP = BAPTIZING THEM
It conectes a believer with a body of believers.
When he entered Capernaum again after some days, it was reported that he was at home. So many people gathered together that there was no more room, not even in the doorway, and he was speaking the word to them. They came to him bringing a paralytic, carried by four of them. Since they were not able to bring him to Jesus because of the crowd, they removed the roof above him, and after digging through it, they lowered the mat on which the paralytic was lying. Seeing their faith, Jesus told the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven.”
But some of the scribes were sitting there, questioning in their hearts: “Why does he speak like this? He’s blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?”
Right away Jesus perceived in his spirit that they were thinking like this within themselves and said to them, “Why are you thinking these things in your hearts? Which is easier: to say to the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up, take your mat, and walk’? But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins”—he told the paralytic—“I tell you: get up, take your mat, and go home.”
Immediately he got up, took the mat, and went out in front of everyone. As a result, they were all astounded and gave glory to God, saying, “We have never seen anything like this!”
Fellowship = working together to come to Jesus.
DISCIPLESHIP = TEACHING THEM TO OBEY
We proclaim him, warning and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone mature in Christ.
