Introduction

I’m Dylan; want to do “Reach 101” for anyone new and a reminder for everyone else of what we’re all about

What do we do?

Fall Blitz events, Welcome Worship, Beach Retreat

Reach on Wednesdays: worship, Word, spend time together

Small groups on Mondays

Other fun events and conferences (GCG, Spring Training, Missions Retreat, etc.)

Random hang outs (lunch in the Ferg, intramurals, sporting events, etc.)

Why do we do it?

Read Mark 12:28-34

Verse 33 — It’s possible to do religious things and still miss the point. So why do we do what we do?

Our mission is to Love God. Love People. Make Disciples. Everything we do—Fall Blitz forward—flows through that.

Love God — Reach (+ Sunday class/worship, GCG, prayer nights, Wheel habits)

Love People — Groups (+ Beach Retreat, hanging out, eating together, serving others)

Make Disciples — Spring Training (+ tabling, sharing Good News, Missions Retreat)

Who is invited?

Everyone! Jesus said make disciples of all nations.

“Not far from the Kingdom of God.” He hadn’t gotten all of it yet. The Good News is that it’s not about your ability to love God and people 100% of the time. Which means being a part of Reach is not about having a perfect past or a perfect present, but about wanting to take steps to love God and people more in the future.

You don’t have to be a follower of Jesus yet to come. In fact, showing up, building friendships, listening, asking questions is the best way to help you decide if you want to follow Jesus. Which means all of your friends are invited to.

Maybe the best thing you could do in college is make every effort to get plugged into a campus ministry early on. It will be hard at first for freshman and maybe easy to check out as a senior, but it’s the most important thing you do.

Whether Reach or another, get plugged in and invite other people all the time.
