Truth: Jesus is God
John 1:1–3 ESV
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.
Object: Basketball
INTRODUCTION: Me building a portable basketball goal for Jonathan's birthday.
What This Tells Us About Jesus:

1. He Already Existed in the Beginning

When each of you were born, I already existed./ Jesus has always existed.

2. He was with God

Relationship with God

3. He was God

4. He Created Everything

What This Means About Me.

1. Jesus Made Me

He is your owner- he knows you better than anyone.

2. Jesus Is My Rule Maker

Game that shows what happens when we make up our own rules. (Tic Tac Toe) - Now play again and you can be whatever character you want. No fun without rules.
Story: Adam and Eve

3. Jesus Must Be My Boss

I Am Called to Surrender
Surrender= Give Up.
Surrender: What you do when a policeman pulls out a gun.
Romans 10:9 ESV
9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Cabin Devotion:
Play “Simon Says”
Ask Students:
Why do you listen to “Simon”?
What happens if you do not listen to “Simon”?
Answer: You lose. You will not win.
Leader: Tell a story of when you failed to follow instructions. And/Or have a student share a time when they got hurt because they didn’t follow instructions.
Tell students, “When we do not follow the instructions of the creator of a product, we are not going to be able to use it as the creator wanted.”
What did we learn about Jesus tonight?
Why is Jesus worthy to be our boss?
Answer: He is our creator. He is the only one who knows the purpose he created us.
What does it mean for Jesus to be our boss?
Why should we surrender our life to Jesus?
“If you have not surrendered your life to Jesus please talk to me or any of the sponsors and we would love to help you do that.”
Pray for the students, that they will listen to Jesus and surrender to him.
