Fleeing from idolatry is a divine command. It’s at the core of God’s commands, the greatest of which, Jesus says, is to Love the Lord our God with all our hearts, minds, souls, and strength.
He begins with the word “therefore, my beloved” He is pointing the reader back to what was just said- Therefore can be summed up by saying “because of what I just said, this is why this is true.”
