2 Corinthians 5:17 ESV
17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
Cabin Devotion:
Game: Have a flashlight and some random objects that would be hard to figure out in the dark.
Turn out lights and have the students guess what the object is.
After they’ve tried to guess, point the flashlight at the object.
Remind them: Light always wins against darkness. Light always reveals the truth.
Jesus is the Light. He shows us truth.
Sponsor: Tell a story of when you were scared of something in the dark that turned out to be nothing. (Remember, you need these kids to go to sleep tonight, don’t let it get too scary.)
Ask the students: When is your birthday?
Explain that your birthday is your physical birth.
Ask if anyone would like to share of their spiritual birthday.
If no student wants to share, have one of the sponsors share their salvation experience.
Why is Jesus able to offer us spiritual life?
He is God.
He died for us.
Romans 6:23
Let students know that you and all the sponsors would love to help them receive this new life in Jesus.
Pray for your students to understand the truth showed to us through Jesus and accept the new life He is offering.
