Your Mission | Mark 5:19-20 | Pastor Jose Brevil
Good morning. I want to talk to you about your mission, your mission. And we going to look at a very popular Bible story in The Book of Mark about a man who was demon-possessed and Jesus change his life and tire Lee. Jesus changed his life completely. So we'll go ahead and read the story and then we going to come back and look at what the text says to say. I have a question for you to store. It is, how has your life changed because of Christ. So as we read the story, I want you to think. How has your life change as a result of Christ. Are you exactly the same person? So if your classmates from elementary school with see you today, would there be a difference or your classmates from high school if they you look at your life today? Would they see that there is a difference or some of you have already passed that stage to college your college friends? If they would look at your life today? What would they say about your life? Would they be able to see some visible change in your life? They're saying that. Wow, somebody's not just growing older, but they are growing up. You remember last week. So how has your life change as a result of Christ? Let's read the story. In Mark. Chapter 5, they came to the other side of the sea to the country of the Nazareth. And when she's has had stepped out of the boat immediately there met him out of the Tomb, a man with an unclean spirit.
You move this lie to me? He lives among the tomb and no one could bind him anymore, not even with a chain. For he had often being bound with shackles and chains, but he went the chains apart and he broke the shackles in pieces. No one had the strength to subdue him. Night and day among the tombs and on the mountain, he was always crying out and cutting himself with stones. And when he saw Jesus from afar, he ran and fell down before him and crying out with a loud voice. He said, what have you to do with me, Jesus? Son of the most high God. I have sure you by God. Do not torment, me.
You think there's a fight between God and the devil? Is no fight. For he was saying to him come out of the men, you unclean spirits and Jesus ask him. What is your name? He replied my name is Legion, which means a lot in the Romans Army that weighs 3000 to 6,000 people for. We are many and he begged him earnestly, not to send them out of the country. What are the demons doing to Jesus? They are begging. Is there a competition between the devil and God?
Battle is already won. And he begged him earnestly, not to send them out of the country. Now, a great herd of pigs was feeding there on the hillside, and They begged him saying, said us to the pigs. Let us enter them. So, he gave them permission. Say it again. He give them So is the devil in control.
The devil is subjected to who So, she just gave him permission and the unclean spirits came out and entered the Pigs. And The Herd. Number about 2,000 rushed down the Steep Bank, into the sea and drown in the sea.
The herdsman, the herdsman fled and told it in the city and in the country and people came to see what it was that I had happened. And they came to Cheese's and saw the demon-possessed, man, the one who had had the legion sitting there clothed and in his right mind and they were afraid. So, people will look at your life when you changed.
That's what happened to that man there. And those who had seen it described to them. What had happened to the demon-possessed, man, and to the pigs, and they begin to beg Cheese's to depart from their region and eyes. And he was getting into the boat the man who had been possessed with demons begged him, that he might be with him. And now verse 19 and 20 which we're going to focus on this morning. And it says when the slides move there and he did not permit him but said to him, go home to your friends and tell them how much the Lord has done for you and how he has had mercy on you. And he went away and begged to Proclaim in the decapolis. That means the ten cities surrounding this area how much Jesus had done for him and everyone marveled. Junior the screen doesn't work father, thank you for your grace as we study your word now look, God, may your word not return void. May your words, exactly what you have purpose for it to do. So, how has your life changed as a result of following Christ? Was demon-possessed. And as a result. Now, when people look at his life, they could see a visible difference. People could see now that the man was in his right mind, and the man was keeping his clothes on. He was not running like a crazy man and hurting himself and destroying himself, but instead, he was a peaceful man. And that's what needs to happen to each of Our Lives. As we encounter Jesus in our lives, there must be some physical visible difference in the way that we are. And this morning, we will see three things in our tax year as we focus on verse 19. Waiting about what our mission needs to be as Believers because the change start their the change starts. When we know our mission as believer, if you remember, I see you just read the text, Jesus gave the men a mission and that mission is ours this morning to another for you you know, when your life is change. You need to be able to tell others how your life has been change, c. A Verse just say the whole chapter there, but they said, would we need? We just need verse 19. Sorry. So, if someone were to ask you to give a clear explanation of your face, what would you say?
You would share your testimony and then you would tell them what God has saved you from how God has saved you. You see when the save the man, Jesus told him to go home and then to tell others what he has done for him. And that's exactly what Peter tells us. Peter tells us in 1st Peter 3:15 to always be prepared to give on answer for the hope that we have in Christ. We always need to be ready to give an answer. That means when we go to the supermarket, we need to be able to tell people, why we are a Believer, why we follow Christ? We need to tell people say, I am the way that I am because of what Christ has done for me, and what is it? That Christ has done for you. If you don't know what Christ has done for you, then you have nothing to share. And that's why we need to know our story. So Jesus gave the man a mission and the mission was threefold desus. Told him to go. Jesus told him to tell told him to tell others and then he needed to obey as we seen verse 20, the man obeyed, the word of Jesus. So that is your mission. See again in verse nights and it says go home to your friends. Some translations, that's family, some translations. A little people also means your community. You see the man went to the ten cities either. The capitalists. That means the ten surrounding cities were heroes from. So, the man went to the people who knew him, the man went to the people who knew how he was before he knew Christ, how Christ has changed him. And now he's saying hey, I present to you. The new me. So can you go to the people who already know you and when they come to you? And when they see you with this, see the change in your life? Will they be able to say that? Oh, man, something is different about Jose. Something is different, is different about you. That's not the way that I remembered you. When you were in high school, that's the way that I remember you, when you were in grade school, that's not the way that I remember you. When you used to party all day in college, but now you are a totally different person. Jesus told the man, go to your friends, your family, your community, your people, tell them how much the Lord has done for you. So, if you are a Believer, you cannot say how much that God has done for you. What God has taken you from. Then we have a problem. You might need to start asking. How is God changed me? Really? I am I really in the faith? Because the Bible says, examine yourself and see whether you are in the faith or not. And if you cannot articulate to others what God has done for you, this is something you need to sit down and write down so you can see what God has done for you for this man, it was clear, God changed his life, God turned his life around, he was 180 degree turn. When you see the men was tormented he was hurting himself. He hated himself because he was overpowered by a demon and with your all those things manifested to the people self cousins, self-inflicted, pain in themselves. You see, people go through all kinds of issues and all kinds of problems. See, Jesus save that man. Jesus, rescued, that, man. And Jesus said a after I rescue you You need to do something, you need to go and rescue others as well. And the man was obedient he went away and he began to Proclaim to the decapolis. That's the ten cities around them so it was not just his friends and family but people were familiar to him. So in his community he was telling anybody would give him an audience. He was telling them how much Jesus had done for him and everyone Marvel because they could see the visible change. Co many of us we are better evangelist for restaurants. Then we are for Christ. If you had a good meal at a restaurant naturally, what are you do you start telling everybody that, you know, to enjoy that same experience that you had man? I just experienced some good food.
But I've experienced Christ the same, even just like food. Some of us have a greater experience with food than we have ra Christ. Some of us have a greater experience with a new car. Have you seen this, right? I just drove a Tesla about a month ago for the first time, I had to call my friend and it sent him a picture until I look when I'm driving. Hey, I did buy one. Okay it was a rental it was going to cost just about $15 more than the other car.
But if he only had a model 3, which is the cheaper version that I had a friend of my picking me, because I miss my flight. And instead of being away for 3 days, I was away for 5 days and I had a friend of mine and that's actually what he's real love. And then he came and pick me up, like, like the model 3 is like to 30,000 something dollar but the other was like, 70-something $2,000 and he came and pick me up as a man.
But you see how was calling my friend from Chicago? And look at this dude. That's my new ride, you know. I never really you got a test. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, that's my right. Eye was lying but it didn't last long but very soon after I told him, this was just a rental mmtc.
Did Tesla asked me to be an evangelist for them. I just did it myself. I started becoming an evangelist for them. Is it the same thing for us? You know, when what God has done in our life do we automatically just ready and willing to share the gospel with others. When we read the scripture, in the scripture has changed our life and did something into our life? Are we ready to be? An evangelist? Are we ready to go? And tell, I didn't worry about offending my friend that always going to see I'm driving a Tesla. But what is it for you? What is it for you? See, what is it that you have no problems talking about that. It comes very natural to you. Once you experience, if you want others to experience it as well. Do you do the same thing for the gospel when God has done something for you? Or you ready and willing to share it with others and that our mission? That's what Christ wants us to do as we are experiencing him. And and it's was not just like a one-time thing that when you've experienced Christ as a Christian, you need to continue to experience in Christ in New Dimensions and a new ways into your life. So it's always fresh. So you can share with others how God has changed your life to be able to tell others how much has God shinj your life. You see the believer can not be idle. Believers can't stay idle. You have to go. See it's active, the verb is active. Go in Matthew 28, if it says go and make disciples, it means as you go, as you go to work, as you go to school, as you go to the supermarket, as you are meeting with people, as you are having people coming over to your house, you are sharing the gospel with them, you see? Jesus said to the man go home, you see discipleship starts where it starts at home and with the people with whom you already know God wants you to share the gospel weave. The people you already know you need to evangelize your home evangelize. The people that you already know, it doesn't even say that you needed to start with the people. You don't like cuz you know there are some people you don't like but it says starts with your friends. You see, you can even start with the people that you like the people. You actually like the people that you praying. Oh, I pray that they make it to You never said, it's okay. Discipleship starts at home starts with the people that you love and share the gospel with him, your family people, you know, see people who knew what you were like before. People would be able to see what's happening to you. You are changing, you are becoming, we are there and we are there not necessarily that you were coming weird to them because you no longer do what they were looking for you to do what they were expecting for you to do and give God the glory for were, you are now in him say it's not about us. It's about Christ. Matthew 28:19 220 says stay with me. Go, therefore and do what makes ipl's that's our church mission statement to make disciples, so we can impact the world. God wants us to go and make disciples. You see, you are not a disciple on. Till you make another disciple. You are not a disciple until you make another disciple cuz the command from Jesus is that we need to go when make the cycles and then he makes it clear of all Nations. That means anybody that God brings into your life, baptizing them. So helping them to make commitment to Christ and make that commitment public. Decries, baptizing them in the name of the father, Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them, that means you passing on everything that God has already taught you to observe all that. I have commanded you and God says, what I will be with you, but a lot of us are scared about sharing the gospel with others, but did God say you were going to do it alone? God says, I will always be with you. So whenever you open your mouth to share the gospel with somebody guess was, who else is there? Jesus is right there with you so we need to get over our fear and start sharing the gospel with everybody that we can remember you not a disciple until you make another disciple. The next thing Jesus told the man was to go and tell others Jesus told him to tell others how much the Lord has done for him. We need to tell others how much the Lord has done for us. See that's why all of us need to have a clear story of where God took us and changed our lives. That doesn't mean that you need to have done some crazy things or start inventing things like into your Dory, I remember that. I was part of a church in my growing up days and then whenever I hear people sharing their testimonies always will be talkin o, man. I wasn't drugged and you know, God to you. Don't take care of me. And then now, I was addicted and now I'm no longer addicted to drugs and then me, I've never even seen drugs, okay? I don't even know what it looks like. So sometimes we have a tendency because we didn't have the experience. Now we start kind of like, finding something to add to our testimony so that we can feel like our testimonies meaningful. You have other people. You don't start telling amen. I was in jail. You know how I was? I was something I was feeling like men. I don't have it. That's the morning. Now we all have a testimony even if you grew up in the church like me, that's all I knew. All my life growing up in the church, that's your story even though you grew up in the church. All your life. That doesn't mean you were perfect. Come on. Those of you who grew up in the church, You know how mischievous you could be at some point, but whatever you do, you know, that you never have any impu tots. Even though you grew up in the church, that is still your story. And a lot of us who grew up in the church, we are very self-righteous, okay. So that is your story. My story is that I grew up in the church. I didn't do anything, but Church, even when I didn't want to go, I didn't have a choice. That would be going whether willingly or not. I just have to choose which way I want to go. Do I want to walk myself or do I want to be carried? I didn't have a choice not to go, but even though I was in the church as a child growing up, I give my life very early on in Christ. That doesn't mean that I fully understand the gospel. It doesn't mean that everything that I did was perfect. I still did things that worth bad. I still, you know, didn't always tell the truth. Fitbit on till later you know grab God. Grab hold of my heart and then my life just progressively becoming more after Christ. See you? When I was about 16-17, that's what I made a commitment takes time to get baptized. I really understand this pay for myself and I want to follow Christ and I made the decision to follow Christ and Eminem going on and following Christ. Going to college feel like too much Freedom then now I back slid, a little and then even in my back sliding days God didn't make it last too long. They just about three to six months and a friend invited me to his church. And when I went to his church visited with him like a Saturday night, it was a big church, they do both Services Saturday Sunday. And and as we went there I guess what? You don't even even no. Backsliding. God can still call you?
The person who was preaching that day, they had a bible school and he was the director of the Bible school, and they were recruiting students, guess what? I did in my back sliding day. God has always been putting in my heart to go to Bible School. And God use that friend in my back sliding. And that's when I went, I went in, sign up for Bible school and then soon as then by the grace of God, I never look back. And again, God is still changing my life. You see, we're God, is helping me to experience prayer. More to experience different aspect of the spiritual life where I live my life. Now, I don't get everything that I leave. Everything that I do. It is for Christ. My money, whatever? I possess whatever I have my entire family, we commit ourselves to God wherever God wants us to go. Whatever God wants us to do. I'm ready to say like, Isaiah Lord, here I am send me. Because now I'm experiencing God more each of our lives, but it was, I'd like that before. You know, I had dreams, I had plans of things other ways that I would like my life to go. But God has a way of changing you and molding, you, and moving you to what the direction that he wants you to go. And I am here because of the grace of God. I am what I am by the grace of God. And each one of us, we need to get our own stories of Faith. How God has been faithful to us so that we can tell others how much that God has done for you. Easy people will Luke on you know in my life sometimes you know, they telling me I do, you know, you need to do more but you know, when my wife and I are we started making some drastic spiritual move, you know? To follow God, you know, like starting a church and here, you know what, I would life got even better.
You know, you always scared. I don't want to do this but life just keeps getting better. Does that mean it's going to be your story? May not be okay. God may still take you like in different places but again, remember everything. All things work together for the good of those who love. God, does that mean then we will face trials, we don't face difficulties but everything that you do, God orders your step, you got his ordering your steps, guess what? You will be fine and whether it's trial, the weather is good things that God is bringing into your life. You see as a result of a changed life in Christ. The people in your life needs to hear what she's has had done for you. What's your Jesus story? What has price done in your life? In 2nd Corinthians 5:20 says that we are ambassadors for Christ. God, making his happiest, we implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. And bassadors, they go to different countries doing what representing their own country and as a Believer, once you become a Believer, you switch Alliance near Alliance. Now he's not with your birth country but it is with Christ and he saying that we are ambassadors. Do we need to go flew the culture and telling others about what God wants to do in their life and what God can do for them to see in Acts 4 verse 18, to 20 story about Peter and John. They so they called them as the people in charge of that City and charge them not to speak or teach at all, in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John answered whatever it is, whether it is right in your sight, in the sight of God. Sorry whether it is right in the sight of God, to listen to you, rather than God you must judge for. We cannot but speak of what we have seen and heard. Is that your story that the gospel is so overflowing in your life, you cannot but speak of what God has done for you. Or are you living in fear of even letting people know that you are a Christian.
What's my Peter and John they were ready to go. They were ready to go as long as it doesn't matter. And I'm talkin good people, they could fear death and beating and persecution for most of us the persecution will be somebody give us a cold shoulder or somebody says or you still believed that in 2023.
That's our persecution today, but but a lot of us, we are fearful about sharing the gospel because of people's reaction, but this man's here were not afraid to get a beating or even be killed for their faith. How much Faith? Do you really have? Do you really believe Jesus? Do you really believe the message of the Gospel?
See, the culture will try to stop you from speaking out. How did they do that? They try to make you feel bad. They try to tell you that you are a bigot. You still believe this trying to embarrass you but Peter and John's attitude was difference. You see, don't be afraid. Don't let the culture sign since you been with the cultures doing today, trying to silence you You can talk about everything in the culture, even if it's appropriate for kids, that would never talk about two kids ever. In the past, it's appropriate that it's not appropriate to talk about Christ. Receive the culture. Is trying to silence you, there are better evangelist for the devil. They are better. Evangelist for their causes. Then we are for Christ. Do we really believe in Christ? The way that we say that we do live in Christ? I don't think people have any problems promoting their organizations. Did not have any problems promoting their clubs, their sorority, they'll fraternities their jobs, their work.
Why is it that we have a problem for moving Christ?
Why do we have a problem promoting Christ? Ebix. Ask a question. Have riccioli experience Christ? Every being filled with the Holy Spirit or are we leaking everyday?
See the Bible says that we need to be filled with the spirit. We may not be able to do it in our strength but we can do it in God's Wrath. You see what Romans 1:16 says I am. Not a shame. Of the gospel. For it is what the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes to the Jew first and also the Greek Paul said, I'm not ashamed. Are you a shame of Christ?
So when people try to say whatever to say are you going to be a shame or you going to continue to share the gospel with them? Because in this life, all we have done will not last only what we've done for Christ will last. Do we really believe that or is it the career? The schooling, the money is more important than Christ. This is not about a guilt trip, but it's about to realize the power that we have in Christ. Paul said, I am not ashamed of the Gospel. What did you read that verse with me? I am not ashamed of the gospel because I see that's what's happening to most of us. We are ashamed of the gospel because we fail to share it with people that we come in contact with. Let me give you a test. When was the last time you share the gospel?
I'm already saved 80. When was the last time you shared the gospel?
When was the last time you ate?
This morning.
Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God. See you, leave you breathing God's? Where do you want to be speaking God's word to others? When was the last time you share the gospel with others?
See all of us struggle with this. But Paul said, I am not a shame and the culture has mastered how they can silence us from sharing the gospel. It's not a problem. I say, hey these are my pronouns. But I cannot say that I belong to Christ.
We're going to be careful in the culture. Now you see people say, all kinds of stuff. They want to say which would not even be appropriate for children to hear anymore in the past. They say all those things, we are afraid to even name the name of Jesus or even let people know that we are believers. See, we need to tell others, I just what God has done for us but also how but also how God has had mercy on us. Do we understand salvation? Do we understand salvation? Do we understand salvation? Romans 3:23, says,
Some of us have seen. What does Romans 3:23 says all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. See, that's why I even if you grew up in the church all I've said,
all of us, have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 6:23 says, for the wages that mean the payment for sin is what?
But the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ. Jesus, our lord. So Def first spiritual, that we do not know God. We have no communication with God. And an ultimately, when we physically die, when we are totally separated from God, for our sin separates us from God, and in John 1:12, it says, but to all who did receive him, who believe in his name, he gave them the right to become children of God. John 3:16 for God. So loved the world. God help us to experience his love that, he gave his only son. Why? Because all have sinned. And only his son is perfect. You gave his only son that whoever Believes in him will not perish, but have eternal life. That's what God has given us. All of us are still full of death as we talked about this morning. K. But here's the thing for the believer. You will live again. And that's why people give money to University so they can live forever. Their name can live on. See that building is called Lynn said they called this. It's called at the name can live on people will give millions of dollars or their name can live on. But for the believer you don't even have to do that. Our name is written in the Lamb's Book of Life and we get to live for ever if you people want to live forever, but they're looking at it and all the wrong places to look at it and money. If I spend a lot of money, people will remember my name. So you need to look into making a name for themselves. But God says 88 its eternal life is finding a person and his name is Jesus Christ. Romans 5:1 says therefore, since we have been Justified that means would be saved from our sins by faith. We have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. But I think that's the problem. A lot of Christians today, we not experiencing peace. It's always turmoil. It's always problems in our my, we not really living in peace. The Bible says, in this world, you will have trouble. But be what of good cheer I have overcome the world. A lot of us on that leaving in peace. But we have peace with God and a lot of people like tormented day after day not knowing about their future but not for the believer. Our future is secure in Christ. To my question for you. This morning, are you experiencing God's peace in your life? Are you experiencing God's peace in your life? Or are you constantly being tormented in your mind about your salvation, your eternal security? In 1st Corinthians. Paul gives us a clear picture in chapter 15 verse 3 and 4 about the gospels is for. I delivered to you as a person for IT, than what I also received from Christ. Christ that Christ died for our sins, how? According to the scriptures that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance to the scripture. The really what Paul is trying to tell us is that egg Christ died. He was buried and he was raised. And it's going to be our future. One day, we will die, where will get buried. But guess what? We will also be raised with him. That's a place to stay. Hallelujah. Most people, they will die, and then be buried. And then, to be buried again to die again, that the Bible calls it, the second death, because they do not know Christ. But for the believer, we will spend eternity with Christ. And then lastly in 20 we saw that guy told them not only to go in 19 to tell others what God has done for him. What God has saved him from a given Mercy but in twenty we saw that the man oh babe the men obey, he went around until all the people in the ten cities nearby and told them what God has done for him. Beating Romans 10 verse 13 to 15. It says for everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be safe is the gospel for everyone. Is the gospel for everyone. Is the gospel for everyone.
I'm sorry. Is the gospel for everyone? Yes. Is that why you're not sharing the gospel with people? You don't believe that they can be safe.
The gospel is for everyone. Even Hitler. If Hitler had repented and gave his life to Christ, the gospel is it would have been for him to
It doesn't matter what you've done your past does not matter. It's what you do now and God can give you a clean slate. It doesn't sound fair but just look at your life. Do you have it all together? Have you done everything perfectly?
They obeyed. I am nowhere close to Hitler, but the Bible says, all our Good Deeds are as filthy rags. Miss all of us have done wrong, whatever, you've done, wrong size, 4 in, in James. What did he say? If you break one of the law, you have broken all of the Stateville. That's why in the Christian Life, we can that look down on Aimee body. See, it says how then will they call on him when they have not? Believed.
So how can they believe if we don't tell them and how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? How can people believe if we don't tell them and how are they to hear without someone? Oh, you thought it was only my job to preach one on one. You sharing the word, you are sharing the gospel. You are preaching to them face, and it says, they to preach, unless they are sent.
Jesus said to the man go, Jesus says to us, go see Jesus. Final words was not to go get a blessing. Go have a Healing Ministry. What was Jesus last word? Go and make disciples.
That's why a lot of churches are missing the mark when the Prosperity Gospel, go be blessed your best life right now. But you going to die in this place, you're going to leave your wealth behind. You think I can have all the wealth that I want but if I'm going to die tomorrow, doesn't matter. But a lot of churches that do hope we giving you like, it's going to get better. You going to get more money? Can I get a promotion?
Yeah, almost Rings all good. But if that's the things that we are living for, we just living like the world and there is absolutely no difference between our life. And now we're this is I said, go get a Healing Ministry, you know, that every healing will be, he'll let that every disease or illness will be healed. We are putting a whooping things that do not last, but the one thing Jesus asks us to do is to share the gospel, make disciples. The things that really last the things that Isaac Eternal values Now, let's get our time about some common rejection to the gospel. The first one is that people will tell you, I'm a good person. I should go to heaven. Have you ever heard this one? People will tell you, I don't need Christ, you know, I'm a good person and you know, why should God let you into heaven? Because I'm a good person. Romans 3310. None is Right shoes. No 91. And if you hear righteous by yourself, None is righteous. No, not one, Isaiah 64:6. But all we, all we are all like, an unclean thing and all our righteousness. All like, filthy rags. If he's into 8th and 9th, for by Grace, you have been saved through faith and it is not of your own doing. It is what a gift of God, not a result of work so that no one may boast. Hey, we are saved today. Why? Because of the grace of God Titus 3:5 says he saved us not because of Works done by us and righteousness. But according to his, what Owen Mercy by the washing of regeneration, And renewal of the Holy Spirit but by the grace of God is he some people will tell you. Their second rejection is that all religions are the same and lead to Heaven. If you heard this one. See, all religions are the same and we all pray to the same. God, anyway, just under different name. I don't think so. John 14:6 is what Jesus said to him. I am what the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the father except through me. So is there multiple ways to God?
Unless we don't believe what Jesus says. Jesus says there is only one way and that's the most covid-19. The cultures that are we all pray to the same God? The gospel is exclusive. The only way we are, safe is flu. Jesus Christ Acts 4:12 season there is salvation in no one else for. There is no other name under Heaven given among men by which we must be safe. How we save only flew Jesus Christ.
In the sense of religion, is not even a religion. Christianity is a relationship with the person of Jesus Christ. That's why we all need to experience Jesus for ourselves. If we do not experience Jesus for ourselves, then we don't really know what Christianity is all about, because a relationship with Jesus changes. Everything a relationship with Jesus will change you. As much as you don't want to change. And then the last one that people often say, is that Christians are Come on. Say it. Louder Christians are
I never wait till you say so are you able say that? Okay.
Let's be honest, I've been told a lie at some point in their life. if you don't know why you were hypocrite, because you're pretending to be something that you are not. Drake. So really when they say Christians are hypocrites, it just means that you do. Just tell him don't drain the church now because you're going to just add one more hypocrite.
the Bible represented with the church is a hospital, get in the hospital, you going to get sick people The church is not a perfect Bunch, okay? Be there people in progress and as God is working on each one of us. Does that mean we need to remain awake? Then we're not really experiencing Christ, as rates, Ransom price, we need to get better and at the end of the day, women's 14 12 days. So then each of us will give an account to help himself do got everybody is responsible for who for themselves. So she has a hypocrite. Okay. And then the last one is that some people will tell you and not yet though, someday. That's right now, I'm too busy. You know, I'm working on this. I'm working on that but not yet. The gospel message is urgent. It is an Urgent Message to 2nd Corinthians 6. Verse 2 says, In a favorable time. Pretty much the last part of 12 in chapter 6, of 2nd Corinthians is Bo and now is the favorable time. Bill now is the day of salvation. So, this is a right now deal because Jim's tells us in James 4:14 yet, you do not know tomorrow. What tomorrow will bring, what is your life for you? Are a Mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes away, we never know when it's going to be our last day. And if we go on an hour lies, they would never making peace with God. Then our separation becomes Eternal with God because our time is now to get to know God You see the gospel is good news. The gospel is good news. People face all kinds of demons in their life today. It is manifested in different ways.
But as Christians, that's why we bring good news to people because John 10:10 says the thief comes only to steal and to kill and to destroy. And that's why we saw in the story of the man who was demon-possessed. Feet. What was the devil doing to him? Tormenting him destroying him. Meeting making him hate himself hurting his own body and really hurting others. People will love him. He was a monk free in the culture. But what do Jesus do? Jesus came that we may have life and have it to the fool and then you saw that, man, he's like change completely, that's the good news that God has given to us to share with people. Are they are dying every day that they face, all kinds of demons in the culture than we come so that we can give them life. Amen. She'll our mission is clear. We need to be disciple makers. So we need to pray for opportunities to share and communicate the gospel message as clearly as we can to others. Would you commit that to prayer? Safe with me, we need to be disciplemakers. So we need to pray for opportunities to share and communicate the gospel message as clearly as we can with others. That's why we have VBS today. This week that's a goal, the goal is to share the gospel with every kid or parents that walk in the door as we have conversations with them. That's why we do it. Not for the games not for all the other stuff, the food. But what we do it's to share. The gospel is to rescue people's life from Death from how the culture is eating them up but to show them the way of Jesus. This is the same thing that Paul did. Paul also pray for the same thing in college. Sims 4 verse 3248 says, at the same time, pray for us. That God may open to us, adore for the word, we need to pray that God open doors for us to declare the mystery of Christ On A Count Of Reach, I am in prison that I may make it clear, which is how I ought to speak. So Paul wanted to share the good news with people as clearly as he could. And things are changing. We need to ask God for the wisdom, how to speak in, whatever situation that we face in all of us, need to get better at sharing the gospel in a way that they said in a first Peter always be prepared to give an answer for the hope that we have. And we do so with gentleness meekness and humility and respect, we need to respect the people That we share the gospel with day, have something to share to. So we need to do so we respect. So memorize 1st Peter, chapter 3, verse 15 and 16 it tells us exactly how we need to do that. And you see in Romans 10:15 does a blessing and sharing the gospel because it says, how beautiful are the feet of those who preach. The, how beautiful are the feet of those? Who preach? The good news of a friend of mine, who was going all the wrong way, all his life was just about money, making it in Wall Street, being a day trader, he just wanted to make it big, it was just all for him about money and was into some other stuff as well. But you know what? By the grace of God, I had an opportunity to share the gospel with him. A guy wouldn't care about family but now he's leaving what his best life is truly is which is not the money, is married with three kids. He's pastoring Church leading a nonprofit organization where he is life is all about Christ. Why? Because he surrendered his life to Christ while he thought the things of the world was going to be the best thing for the right of the things of the world which is destroying him. But now instead he truly get to live The Chew life that God has prepared for him not just for here as God is ordering his steps but also to live eternity with Christ because in Revelation, It says I see in heaven, people from every tribe, every language they are worshiping God, they are worshiping the Lamb of God. God wants every single one of us, not only to live the life that he had ordered us here in this Earth, but also to live with him in eternity. And that's why your mission. My mission is, we need to go into all the world. That's your family, your friends, your people, your community, people was familiar with you and everybody else, and you need to preach. That means, you open your mouth and tell them about Jesus Christ. Amen. Father, thank you for your grace. Thank you for such a great opportunity this morning.
To be reminded how important it is.
To share your good news with others, so that everybody will know. So, that everybody will be able to experience the Abundant Life that you have for them to Father. Help each one of us here. This morning, may you seal this words into our hearts So that we would not send. Against you. So father help each one of us to go out today. And share the gospel that you help us look, got to experience you in new ways. And walk with you, Lord. Be magnified, be glorified in everything that we do. In Jesus name, we pray.
