22 But be doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.
Pressing into a couple themes:
Experiencing personal and collective revival.
Changing the course of a nation.
These things can only happen when we become doers of the Word.

8 The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever.
5 Every word of God proves true; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.
89 Forever, O Lord, your word is firmly fixed in the heavens.
31 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.
The Word of God is under attack!
One of the marks of revival has always been a high reverence for God’s Word and a radical responsiveness to God’s Word.
Apart from these things, there can be no revival.
The true test of faith is always whether we live our lives in obedience to what we say we believe.
We live in God’s world, ruled by His Word.
15 “This is what the Lord of Armies, the God of Israel, says: ‘I am about to bring on this city—and on all its cities—every disaster that I spoke against it, for they have become obstinate, not obeying my words.’ ”
7 “ ‘But you have not obeyed me’—this is the Lord’s declaration—‘with the result that you have angered me by the work of your hands and brought disaster on yourselves.’
19 I will do this because they have not listened to my words”—this is the Lord’s declaration—“the words that I sent to them with my servants the prophets time and time again. And you too have not listened.” This is the Lord’s declaration.
Jeremiah 35:14 (CSB)
I have spoken to you time and time again, and you have not obeyed me!
The radical message of the Gospel is that you CAN change!
And not only that, but if you are a true believer you MUST change! Because you have the Holy Spirit living inside you and He will make you Holy!
It’s the good news that we don’t have to be what we were, because we have His Spirit, we can obey His Word.
We do great damage to the gospel when we make light of our sin and we do even greater damage when we approve of what God clearly calls sin!
