Our Eyes Are Upon You Lord

2 Chronicles 20:12 O our God, wilt thou not judge them? for we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon thee.

To begin with if it was ever a time that you take your eyes off of your circumstances that time is now. This authentic story in biblical history is a clear indicator of how to respond to trouble. You’ve got to know it’s not a season it’s a new day.

1. God is going to turn things around.

2. Jehoshaphat name means God pleads his cause.

3. Jehoshaphat is in trouble but God will be on his side.

4. Jehoshaphat ask God for guidance. 5. Jehoshaphat declares a fast for the whole nation, and gets divine results. 6.Jehoshaphat creates a special time to pray. Because prayer changes things, prayer changes conditions and prayer changes the circumstances in our lives.. Put it all in the Hands of the Good Lord. And if you truly want help you’ve got to ask for help.

2 Chronicles 20:4  The people of Judah came together to ask the LORD for help; they came from every town in Judah.5 The people of Judah and Jerusalem met in front of the new courtyard in the Temple of the LORD. Then Jehoshaphat stood up,

Listen brothers and sisters the people of Jehoshaphat’s day realized and recognized that they needed God’s Divine Help. And if the people of Jehoshaphat’s day knew that, then we too in 2023 know that we need God’s Divine help. You can’t do it by yourself. America needs God’s help. Louisiana needs God’s help. Baton Rouge and Port Allen needs God’s help. Say Amen. Too much stuff is headed in the wrong directions all at the same time. We have natural disasters of every kind everyday.. We have killing and shouting everywhere in the country everyday. We have financial problems the rich is getting richer and the poor are getting poorer and the middle class is being wiped out.Mainstream America are having the hick-up but black and brown people are throwing up our guts.Nothing is fair nothing righteous, There is no Moral compass no ethical compass and certainly no spiritual compass or reverence toward God. I’m waiting to wake up out of this nightmare but when I wake up I realize it’s not a nightmare it’s the true state of affairs.

And that makes me cry out to God and say Lord We don’t know what to do But our eyes are upon you. As the leader I’m crying out too you Lord. Look at 2 Chronicles 20:5-125 The people of Judah and Jerusalem met in front of the new courtyard in the Temple of the LORD. Then Jehoshaphat stood up, 6 and he said, “LORD, God of our ancestors, you are the God in heaven. You rule over all the kingdoms of the nations. You have power and strength, so no one can stand against you. 7 Our God, you forced out the people who lived in this land as your people Israel moved in. And you gave this land forever to the descendants of your friend Abraham. 8 They lived in this land and built a Temple for you. They said, 9 ‘If trouble comes upon us, or war, punishment, sickness, or hunger, we will stand before you and before this Temple where you have chosen to be worshiped. We will cry out to you when we are in trouble. Then you will hear and save us.’10 “But now here are men from Ammon, Moab, and Edom. You wouldn’t let the Israelites enter their lands when the Israelites came from Egypt. So the Israelites turned away and did not destroy them. 11 But see how they repay us for not destroying them! They have come to force us out of your land, which you gave us as our own.12 O our God, wilt thou not judge them? for we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon thee. I see several things here in the text

1. Jehoshaphat rehearsed Israel’s past and Judah’s Past history with God in his prayer. Lord if you did it for them then do it for us now in 2023.

2. Jehoshaphat acknowledges that God is All Powerful that God is Omnipotent and nobody on earth can stand up to our God. That was then and that’s still true right now!!! Do I have a witness.

3. Jehoshaphat said Lord you helped our forefathers and you gave them this land and then drove out the people who were here before they got here. In other words Lord you cleared out our enemies and if God did it then certainly He’s able to do it in 2023. 4.Jehoshaphat’s prayer is powerful because he said the descendants of Abraham built a temple for you and Lord you said if they were ever in trouble this is where we need to come and talk to you about it at. it was true in Jehoshaphat’s day and it’s true right now in 2023. Because just a little talk with Jesus make it alright.

5. Jehoshaphat said Lord All of Judah is here. We are all standing in awe before an Awesome God because these enemies are way too big for us. Three of them have ganged up on us, it’s too many for us to fight. When the enemy know that you’re strong they’ll combine forces just to defeat you. Oh but never anticipate the failure of the Holy Ghost.

6. And then finally, Jehoshaphat said Lord we don’t know what to do but our eyes are upon you. Brothers and sisters when you’re in crisis mode you don’t need popcorn and peanuts and a movie no no no you need the Awesome Power of El Shaddai The Almighty God. When you’re in trouble you don’t need no chump god.. You need and All Sufficient Savior whose able to do all things but fail!!! I wonder do I have any believers in here today, that know that God is Able. yeah 3x God is Able.

Then the bible says a revival happened in the midst of the congregation. A rejuvenation happened in the midst of the congregation and a Godly resolve happened in the midst of the congregation. The bible says Jahaziel the Levite stood up in the middle of the meeting and began to prophesy to King Jehoshaphat and all of the people. in 2 Chronicles 20:14 Then upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, came the Spirit of the LORD in the midst of the congregation; 15 And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s. 16 To morrow go ye down against them: behold, they come up by the cliff of Ziz; and ye shall find them at the end of the brook, before the wilderness of Jeruel. 17 Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the LORD will be with you. There are a few nuggets the need to be nurtured from the text.

1.The Spirit of the Lord shows up show out and shows off because it’s real business!!! Everywhere you see that the Spirit of the Lord showing up in this bible it’s important and it’s serious business. (So don’t play foolishly with God).

2. Then the Spirit of the Lord uses Jahaziel to speak to proclaim to be a keyrusso. Jahaziel prophesied the message from God to meet the masses on behalf of the Master. Teach me Doc Allen.

3. Jahaziel was a Levite which means that Jahaziel was a minister, and at the very least he was a Deacolate or a Deacon ministry. And for the record in order for Jahaziel to hear from God he had to be a clean vessel. You can’t be doing any and every old thing as a deacon. Your life got to line up with the Word of God.

4. Jahaziel ’s Prophecy was that the Children of Israel were not to be afraid of the enemies not to be discouraged by their enormous size and scope and not to lose hope or faith in God Almighty.

5. Jahaziel said the Battle is not yours it’s the Lord’s. I’m so glad it’s not all on me and that it’s God’s battle. I don’t stay up worrying about stuff that only God can handle. And that’s pretty much everything. I put it all in the hands of the Good Lord.

6. The Prophecy was to go down there like you’re going to fight. Gear up for war!!! Sound the Alarm. Ready the Troops!! Get to your battle stations.

7. Jahaziel named Israel’s enemies The Moabites, the Ammonites, and Meunites of Mount Seir. Tell God your enemies name and watch how He works on your behalf.

8. And finally, Jahaziel said King Jehoshaphat you and the Israeli Army just STAND STILL AND SEE THE SALVATION OF THE LORD.

Well I held y’all long enough, Great God Jehoshaphat fell down on his face, knees bent and body bowed with his face to the ground Oh Lord And Jehoshaphat began to Worship the Lord. And as I close here today I just want to say LORD I Worship you today Oh Yes I do. And The bible says that the deacons the Levites all stood up and began to Praise the Lord. Brothers and sisters we bow down to worship God and we stand up to Praise the Lord.

And the bible says that Early Early Early the next morning Um Um Um Jehoshaphat said to all of the Israeli Army Everybody here got to believe that God is Able. Everybody here got to believe that God sent the prophet preacher teacher leader to tell us what thus said the Lord. Everybody here got to believe that if we trust God’s war strategy we will be successful.

Oh Lord Yes And Jehoshaphat um um um for a choir, Great God. He had the Levites in front of the army dressed in their Holy Robes and Jehoshaphat divided the army into three different groups.

And while the Soldiers in the Lord Army was singing and shouting, it confused the enemies mind. They started turning on one another and ambushing and plotting and killing each other.

And so the Moabites the Ammonites and Mount Seir turned on each other and when the battle was over Hallelujah!!! The Khorathite Singers were leading God’s people to a battle that had already been fought to a battle that the victory had already been won.

When your eyes are upon the Lord God will fight your battles.

When your eyes are upon the Lord God will fix your financial woes.

When your eyes are upon the Lord God will require us to have Faith in the midst of impossible odds.

When your eyes are upon the Lord God will funnel your faith into a fabulous future that won’t fizzle before the Finish.

So keep your eyes upon the Lord. And He will see you through. Ain’t He Alright 3x.
