Psalm 16:11 (CSB)
11 You reveal the path of life to me; in your presence is abundant joy; at your right hand are eternal pleasures.
18 yet I will celebrate in the Lord;
I will rejoice in the God of my salvation!
9 “As the Father has loved me, I have also loved you. Remain in my love. 10 If you keep my commands you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love.
11 “I have told you these things so that my joy may be in you and your joy may be complete.
Joy comes though remaining in, abiding in Christ
Joy is one of the fruit of the spirit, comes through walking in the Spirit
Galatians 5:22–23 (CSB)
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. The law is not against such things.
4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5 Let your graciousness be known to everyone. The Lord is near. 6 Don’t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
Our Joy results in confident trust and thanksgiving.
1 Thessalonians 5:16–24 (CSB)
16 Rejoice always, 17 pray constantly, 18 give thanks in everything; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 19 Don’t stifle the Spirit. 20 Don’t despise prophecies, 21 but test all things. Hold on to what is good. 22 Stay away from every kind of evil.
23 Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely. And may your whole spirit, soul, and body be kept sound and blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24 He who calls you is faithful; he will do it.
12 Restore the joy of your salvation to me,
and sustain me by giving me a willing spirit.
