Romans 3:10-14 “as it is written: “None is righteous, no, not one; no one understands; no one seeks for God. All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one.” “Their throat is an open grave; they use their tongues to deceive.” “The venom of asps is under their lips.”
The tongue is tough to tame and it can be good and at other times it can be harmful. We must be careful when we use it as Christians because people are watching us. Ro 3:13 says; “Their throat is an open grave; they use their tongues to deceive.” We say things to others that can be harmful at times and we sometimes don’t remember what we said or we have a lapse of memory when we are confronted. We may mean it at the time we said it but later on, we recant. We as Christians must be aware of this. Yes, the tongue is hard to tame but we must try our hardest to control what we say to others because some people don’t forget what was said before and we can hurt their feelings or they may have a different opinion towards us. So be very careful how we use our tongue when we speak to others. Remember the tongue is unruly and can be very deceitful. Watch ourselves when we confront others and be mindful of our conversations. Remember, the tongue is hard to tame and what comes out of it can be good or harmful and even damaging.
The doors of the Church are open, If you feel that your tongue has harmed someone, now is the time to repent and ask for forgiveness.
