Jeremiah 1:4–8 NIV84
4 The word of the Lord came to me, saying, 5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” 6 “Ah, Sovereign Lord,” I said, “I do not know how to speak; I am only a child.” 7 But the Lord said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am only a child.’ You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you. 8 Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the Lord.
Today, I want to speak to you about being known by God. As Christians, we often talk about knowing God, but we don't always focus on the fact that we are also known by Him. In Jeremiah 1:4-8, we see that God knew Jeremiah even before he was born and had a plan for his life. Just like Jeremiah, God knows each one of us and has a purpose for our lives.
Let’s explore what it means to be known by God.

1. God Knows Our Past

Psalm 139:1 “1 O Lord, you have searched me and you know me.”
You're not a secret
You're known
You should know
Before you did right or wrong God gave you purpose
Don't let your past rob you of your purpose

Sub Point 1. God knows everything about us

He knows our thoughts
He knows our actions
He knows our motives

Sub Point 2. God knows our weaknesses

He knows our struggles
He knows our failures
He knows our sins

Sub Point 3. God knows our potential

He knows our gifts and talents
He knows our strengths
He knows what we are capable of achieving

2. God Knows Our Present

Hebrews 4:13 “13 Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.”

Sub Point 1. God is always with us

He never leaves us
He is always present in our lives
He is always ready to help us

Sub Point 2. God knows our needs

He knows what we require
He knows what we desire
He knows what is best for us

Sub Point 3. God knows our hearts

He knows our deepest desires
He knows our fears and anxieties
He knows the condition of our hearts

3. God Knows Our Future

Jeremiah 29:11 “11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Sub Point 1. God has a plan for our lives

He has a purpose for us
He has a mission for us
He has a destiny for us

Sub Point 2. God knows the future

He knows what will happen
He knows what we will face
He knows what we need to do

Sub Point 3. God knows the way

He knows the path we should take
He knows the road we should follow
He knows the direction we should go

4. God Knows Our Calling

Ephesians 2:10 “10 For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

Sub Point 1. God has called us to a specific purpose

If God is confident in calling you, you should be confident in your calling
He has called us to serve Him
He has called us to love others
He has called us to make disciples
Excuses only delay your purpose they do not cancel it

Sub Point 2. God has equipped us for our calling

He has given us gifts and talents
He has given us the Holy Spirit
He has given us His Word

Sub Point 3. God will empower us for our calling

He will give us strength
He will give us courage
He will give us wisdom
You should know that God is for you and not against you
You should know that God did not give you a spirit of fear
You should know that with God all things are possible
You should know that if you believe it will be done
You should know that no weapon formed against you will prosper
God knows our past, present, and future. He has called us to a specific purpose and has equipped us for it. We must trust Him and His plan for our lives.
