Mettle the ability to meet a challenge or persevere under demanding circumstances

(M) the Meek shall inherit the earth
Mat 5:5 “Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.”
Meekness is not weakness but is instead defined as power under authority and strength under control.
Psalms 37:11 “But the meek shall inherit the earth; And shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.”
The meek inherit the earth because of course the Lord said so but also because the meek are powerful and strong.
It is my belief that true meekness makes nonbelievers unsure and a little afraid. A meek man can destroy but doesn’t.
Isaiah 29:19 “The meek also shall increase their joy in the Lord, And the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.”
The meek increase joy as they use their strength they get fulfillment.
(E) Endure hardship
2 Timothy 2:3 “Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.”
It has been said that we see what we are made of as life squeezes us and we see what comes out. What has come out in the past? What would you want to change?
2 Timothy 4:5 “But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.”
Imagine a life with honor, no regret, and no shame.
I try to be the man who God created me to be. Will you join me? Can we sharpen one another? Proverbs 27:17 “Iron sharpeneth iron; So a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.”
1 Corinthians 9:27 “But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.”
Make your body your slave
Keep your honor.
Test your mettle
(T) Trust in the Lord
Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; And lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, And he shall direct thy paths.”
Psalms 37:3 “Trust in the Lord, and do good; So shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.”
Psalms 118:8-9 “It is better to trust in the Lord Than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in the Lord Than to put confidence in princes.”
Trust no person, not even yourself
Submit to authority Romans 13:1 “Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.” However we do not trust them.
(T) Treasure is in heaven
Luke 12:33 “Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.”
Luke 12:15 “And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.” Our possessions can own us
Matthew 19:21 “Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.”
Matthew 6:21 “For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”
Whatever we sacrifice to is our god
We know what is important by where we spend our time
Are you satisfied with what you have on earth? What about the treasure that you have in heaven?
(E) Equip yourself for every good work
2 Timothy 3:17 “That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.”
2 Timothy 2:15 “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
Studying the word is the only way to keep from being deceived. Matthew 24:4 “And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.”
Ephesians 6:10-11 “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”
Prove each piece of armor to see which pieces fit well and also which do not.
What I mean is the pieces that don’t fit well are the areas that we are weak. You should know where you are weak because the enemy does.
1 Thessalonians 4:11 “And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;”
The fulfillment that we get as men just working with what God has given us cannot be overstated.
