Jeremiah 3:15 NKJV
15 And I will give you shepherds according to My heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding.

What are the shepherds He has Given you called to do?

Jesus is the Good shepherd. He laid down His life for the sheep.

John 10:10–11 NKJV
10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. 11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep.

This is why a true shepherd is called of God. The shepherd called of God is not a hireling.

a hireling will run at the sight of trouble. however a shepherd called by the Good Shepherd has given His or Her life to the Good shepherd.

The called shepherd will put themselves between the sheep and whatever wolves threaten the sheep.

John 10:12–13 NKJV
12 But a hireling, he who is not the shepherd, one who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees; and the wolf catches the sheep and scatters them. 13 The hireling flees because he is a hireling and does not care about the sheep.

This is why pastors will be held to a higher standard in at The Judgement.

James 3:1 NKJV
1 My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment.

The work of The Five Fold Ministry will be tested on the day of Judgement.

1 Corinthians 3:9–15 NKJV
9 For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, you are God’s building. 10 According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I have laid the foundation, and another builds on it. But let each one take heed how he builds on it. 11 For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, 13 each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is. 14 If anyone’s work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. 15 If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.

This is why we all should be in unity.

Hebrews 13:17 NKJV
17 Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you.
Let me get back to our original question.

What are the shepherds He has Given you called to do?

1. We are called to Feed the sheep.

Jeremiah 3:15 NKJV
15 And I will give you shepherds according to My heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding.
In John 21:15 He told the apostle Peter to, “feed my Lambs.”
In John 21:16 He told the apostle to, “tend my sheep.”
Then again in John 21:17 He said to him, “feed my sheep.”
to tend means- 44.3 ποιμαίνωa: to herd and tend flocks of sheep or goats—‘to shepherd, to take care of, to tend, to pasture.’ λέγει αὐτῷ, Ποίμαινε τὰ πρόβατά μου ‘he said to him, Shepherd my sheep’ or ‘…, Take care of my sheep’ Jn 21:16. In a number of cultures sheep are not herded or taken care of; they serve primarily as scavengers, and therefore it may be necessary to introduce some type of marginal note, especially in passages which have figurative significance.
Johannes P. Louw and Eugene Albert Nida, Greek-English Lexicon of the New Testament: Based on Semantic Domains (New York: United Bible Societies, 1996), 517.
to tend could mean to mend. it could also mean to nurse. in contrast to other cultures where sheep are left to scavenger.
you are not called to do so. you are the body of Christ.
Within your scope of influence is the kingdom of God.

2. To tend we are called to promote healing.

Matthew 4:23 NKJV
23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people.
Psalm 103:5 NKJV
5 Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
you might have a diagnosis, but don’t confuse a diagnosis with an identity.
Don’t make your testimony terminal. realize that your coming through.
you are called to victory not victim-hood.

3. We are called to equip you for the purpose to which He called you to.

Ephesians 4:11–12 NKJV
11 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ,
Ephesians 3:20 NKJV
20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,
Romans 8:37 NKJV
37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
