Introduction

Scripture Reading

Jesus said in Matt. 28:19-20, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Step One: Go Make Disciples

What is a “disciple”?

Discipleship is the process of devoting oneself to a teacher to learn from and become more like them. For the Christian, this refers to the process of learning the teachings of Jesus and following after his example in obedience through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Step Two: Baptize Them

What is “baptism”?

The rite of formal initiation into the Christian church through water.

The basis of forgiveness was the individual’s repentance and faith in Jesus.

Step Three: Teach Them

Discipleship not only involves the process of becoming a disciple but of making other disciples through teaching and evangelism.

In other words, as we learn about Jesus, we should teach others what we are learning.
