Christ and His Calming (Fear Not)
Christ and His Calming (Fear Not)
There’s no reason to be afraid of Jesus Christ in means of salvation. He wants to save everyone that will let Him.
Never be afraid to listen to what Jesus is trying to say to you. He’s only wanting to help you.
Christ and His Constantsy (I am the first and the last)
Christ and His Constantsy (I am the first and the last)
Before Jesus Christ ever came to this world, He was.
Before Abraham was, I AM.
John 1:1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
John 1:14 “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”
Jesus Christ was there in creation.
Colossians 1:15-17 “Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.”
Genesis 1:26 “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.”
John 1:3 “All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.”
If Christ is the last, He will always be here.
Christ had no beginning, thus will have no end. He has always been and always will be.
Hebrews 13:8 “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.”
Christ and His Coming (I am he that liveth)
Christ and His Coming (I am he that liveth)
1 Timothy 1:15 “This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.”
Matthew 9:13 “But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”
Galatians 4:4-5 “But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.”
Christ had to come as a man, and die as a man, to save man from theirs sins.
Christ left the splendors of glory in heaven to put on flesh like ours, live a perfect life, and save us from our sins.
Christ and Calvary
Christ and Calvary
2 Cor 5:21 “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”
Who hath believed our report? And to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed? For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, And as a root out of a dry ground: He hath no form nor comeliness; And when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. He is despised and rejected of men; A man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: And we hid as it were our faces from him; He was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs, And carried our sorrows: Yet we did esteem him stricken, Smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: The chastisement of our peace was upon him; And with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned every one to his own way; And the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, Yet he opened not his mouth: He is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, And as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, So he openeth not his mouth. He was taken from prison and from judgment: And who shall declare his generation? For he was cut off out of the land of the living: For the transgression of my people was he stricken. And he made his grave with the wicked, And with the rich in his death; Because he had done no violence, Neither was any deceit in his mouth. Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: When thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, He shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, And the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.
Romans 5:6-8 “For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
The pain and torment that Christ went through on Calvary was to show you how much He loved you. He didn’t want you to go through the wrath of God. He took that wrath so that we could have eternal life.
Christ and His Conquering (I Am alive for evermore!)
Christ and His Conquering (I Am alive for evermore!)
Three days and three nights later, Christ rose from the dead. HE CONQUERED DEATH FOR YOU AND ME!
Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead? But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen: And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain. Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not. For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised: And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished. If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.
If Christ didn’t raise from the dead, this VBS is useless.
If Christ didn’t raise from the dead, why am I teaching you about Him?
If Christ didn’t raise from the dead, He’s the biggest liar in the history of mankind.
If Christ didn’t raise from the dead, we might as well just run wild and do whatever we want.
But since Christ is risen from the dead, we can have eternal life, our sins washed away, a relationship with the creator of the universe, have a friend that will always be there for us, someone who loves us no matter what, not have to worry about going to hell: we’ve got the best thing and the best person ever, CHRIST!
Hebrews 7:25 “Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.”
Romans 8:35-37 “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.”
Not only did He conqueror, but we can be conquerors with Him!
Conqueror = to vanquish something, to gain a decisive victory.
YOU CAN HAVE THE DECISIVE VICTORY OVER SIN IF YOU LET JESUS CHRIST FIGHT THE BATTLE FOR YOU. HE’S ALREADY WON!
Keys have the ability to open or lock a door.
Christ said He is the door. (John 10:9 “I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.” )
Christ can close the door of death and lock the door, never to be entered into again.
Keys also have the ability to start or stop the engine of a vehicle.
When we’re born, our vehicle is running straight for death. As soon as we come into this world, we are dying.
Only Jesus has the ability to take the keys out of our engine (removing of sin), put us in a new car that has unlimited fuel (eternal life), and He possesses the keys to drive it (I give unto them eternal life, and they shall never perish)
Romans 6:8-9 “Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him: Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.”
Dominion - to have power over.
It may have seemed like death had power of Christ, but on early Sunday morning, He Arose!
