Principle: In order to walk in G-d’s will for our lives, we must consistently and diligently seek Him and cling to Him.
Parasha Vaetchanan
Deuteronomy 4:9 TLV
“Only be watchful and watch over your soul closely, so you do not forget the things your eyes have seen and they slip from your heart all the days of your life. You are to make them known to your children and your children’s children.
Parasha Vaetchanan
Deuteronomy 4:15–19 TLV
“So be very watchful over your souls since you saw no form on the day that Adonai spoke to you in Horeb out of the midst of the fire, so that you do not act corruptly and make for yourselves a graven image in the likeness of any figure—the form of a male or female, the form of any animal that is on the earth, the form of any winged bird that flies in the sky, the form of anything that creeps on the ground, the form of any fish that is in the water under the earth— and so that you do not lift up your eyes toward the heavens and see the sun and the moon and the stars—all the heavenly host—and are drawn away and bow down and worship them. Adonai your God has allotted them to all the peoples under all the heavens.
Parasha Vaetchanan
Deuteronomy 6:10–13 TLV
“Now when Adonai your God brings you into the land that He swore to your fathers—to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob—to give you great and good cities that you did not build, and houses full of all good things that you did not fill, and cisterns dug that you did not dig, vineyards and olive trees that you did not plant, and you eat and are full, then watch yourself so that you do not forget Adonai, who brought you out from the land of Egypt, from the house of slavery. You must fear Adonai your God and serve Him, and swear by His Name.
Parasha Vaetchanan

Deuteronomy 10:16–20 TLV
“Circumcise the foreskin of your heart therefore, and do not be stiff-necked anymore. For Adonai your God is God of gods and Lord of lords —the great, mighty and awesome God, who does not show partiality or take a bribe. He enacts justice for the orphan and widow, and loves the outsider, giving him food and clothing. Therefore love the outsider, for you were outsiders in the land of Egypt. Adonai your God you will fear—Him will you serve. To Him will you cling, and by His Name will you swear.
Parasha Vaetchanan
1 Samuel 15:10–13 TLV
Then the word of Adonai came to Samuel saying: “I regret that I made Saul king, for he has turned back from following Me and has not carried out My commands.” So Samuel was troubled and cried out to Adonai all night long. Then Samuel rose early in the morning to confront Saul. But it was reported to Samuel saying, “Saul went to Carmel—for some reason, he erected a monument for himself. Then he turned and went down to Gilgal.” Now when Samuel reached Saul, Saul said to him, “Blessed are you of Adonai! I have carried out Adonai’s command.”
Parasha Vaetchanan
1 Samuel 28:4–6 TLV
So the Philistines mustered and came and camped in Shunem; and Saul gathered all Israel together and they camped at Gilboa. Now when Saul saw the camp of the Philistines, he was afraid and his heart trembled greatly. When Saul inquired of Adonai, Adonai did not answer, neither by dreams nor by Urim or prophets.
Parasha Vaetchanan
Psalm 33:13–19 TLV
Adonai looks down from heaven. He observes all humanity. From His dwelling place He gazes on all the inhabitants of the earth— He who fashions the hearts of all, who discerns all their deeds. No king is saved by his great army, no warrior is delivered by great strength. A horse is a false hope for victory, nor can its great strength save. Behold, the eyes of Adonai are on those who fear Him, waiting for His love, to deliver their souls from death, and to keep them alive in famine.
Parasha Vaetchanan
John 14:21 TLV
He who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me. He who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and reveal Myself to him.”

James 1:22–24 TLV
But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deluding yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in a mirror— for once he looks at himself and goes away, he immediately forgets what sort of person he was.
Parasha Vaetchanan
Deuteronomy 4:27–31 TLV
Adonai will scatter you among the peoples, and you will be left few in number among the nations where Adonai will drive you. There you will serve man-made gods of wood and stone, which do not see or hear or eat or smell. But from there you will seek Adonai your God and you will find Him, when you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul. “When you are in distress and all these things have come on you, in the latter days you will return to Adonai your God and listen to His voice. For Adonai your God is a merciful God. He will not abandon you or destroy you, or forget the covenant with your fathers that He swore to them.
Parasha Vaetchanan
Psalm 107:10–22 TLV
Some sat in darkness and deep gloom, prisoners in misery and iron chains, for they had defied God’s words, and spurned the counsel of Elyon. So He humbled their heart with trouble. They stumbled, and no one was helping. So they cried out to Adonai in their distress, and He delivered them out of their troubles. He brought them out of darkness and deep gloom, breaking their chains. Let them praise Adonai for His mercy, and His wonders for the children of men, for He shattered bronze gates, and broke into pieces iron bars. Some became fools because of their rebellious ways, and were afflicted due to their iniquities. Their soul abhorred all food, and they drew near the gates of death. So they cried out to Adonai in their distress, and He delivered them out of their troubles. He sent His word and healed them, and rescued them from their pits. Let them praise Adonai for His mercy, and His wonders for the children of men. Let them sacrifice thank offerings and tell of His works with joyful singing.
