The second triad of fruits are meant for reaching out to others

Where the first three were habits of the mind, rooted in God’s virtues, these three are fortified by love, joy and peace and meant to reach out to others PATIENTLY, in kindness and goodness.

Patience is the quality of bearing up under circumstances that are provoked by: Others, external forces, your own shortcomings.

2 Corinthians 6:4–8 NIV84
Rather, as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: in great endurance; in troubles, hardships and distresses; in beatings, imprisonments and riots; in hard work, sleepless nights and hunger; in purity, understanding, patience and kindness; in the Holy Spirit and in sincere love; in truthful speech and in the power of God; with weapons of righteousness in the right hand and in the left; through glory and dishonor, bad report and good report; genuine, yet regarded as impostors;

See where PATIENCE is in the middle of this passage, and what surrounds it.

Colossians 1:10–12 NIV84
And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light.
Patience is the key to sharing our walk with God. A walk filled with love, joy and Peace and asking God how we can share it with others.
Colossians 3:12–14 NIV84
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
When Paul tells us to clothe ourselves in these verses, what would clothing like that look like?
So what task of patience do you believe the Lord has for you? We all have some.
