“And the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” Okay, but when? That verse is so often quoted it is almost cliché. Here’s another cliché: You must learn to walk before you can run. You must also learn to add and subtract before you can learn to multiply and divide. Some achievements have prerequisites. If you look 3 verses prior to the one quoted here, Paul tells us to rejoice in the Lord. Always rejoice. He believes it to be so important that he says it twice. Rejoice! Peace may be lacking because the prerequisite of praising the Lord even when times are hard hasn’t been met. Pastor Harrison walks us through a path of thinking that recognizes our ‘storms’ for what they are, where praise fits in, and how to manifest that tiny bit of peace in your heart to overwhelm your whole being.
