Revelation 19:11-21

I have read some from here before, but I want to go back and speak on this event that is to come.
When Scripture speaks of Jesus coming again or His 2nd coming, It is speaking of this event. Jesus has come once in Grace and Mercy.
He cam once in humble means, bringing about glorious ends!
He lived, ministered, and died for all humanity, that they might believe in His complete work and be spared from the wrath to come!
Jesus’ 2nd coming will be the wrath to come.....This verse says it best 1 Thessalonians 1:10 “And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.”
This will be understood during the tribulation.....Revelation 6:16-17 “And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?”
This has been laid upon my heart over the last couple of weeks! To understand this and believe in this day, this time is important!
I understand that it is horrifying to some, to us which are saved it is a glorious day!
This is what we are saved from!
The timeline of this, is after the 7 bowl judgments, that has been poured out on the earth.
It is at the end of the 7 year tribulation!
The Great Tribulation is a horrific time, 1/3 of the earth, the sea, the rivers, the skies, and humanity will be destroyed....what is left will be sores, sea turning to blood, rivers turn to blood, men are scorched with fierce heat, darkness will cover the throne of the beast and pain will come from their sores, then the Euphrates will dry up, and then the earth will be shaken.
We don’t have time to go into it all but for reference there will be seals 7 seals opened and then 7 trumpets will announce each of these things I listed and then the final judgments will be bowls of God’s wrath that is poured out on the earth!
I just want to make sure that we understand the these are God’s judgments!
Then Jesus comes....verses 11-21.......Jesus’ coming will be a judgment!
The coming of Christ as I said earlier will be horrific to those who do not believe, but to us that are saved it will be glorious!
Titus 2:13 “Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;”
The reading of these judgments and then of Christ’s return can be gruesome, but that is mainly what I want to deal with!
We read and hear of these things and we get so overwhelmed at what will happen, that we miss the grace that is right in front of us! Matter of fact is that God’s grace and mercy (God’s love) has kept us from this day, a lot longer than some of the apostles believed!
This day is coming, that is a fact, equally a fact we have been given a Way (Jesus) out of this day and even in the midst of these horrifying times there will be mercy and grace shown!
It is hard for some to see the mercy and grace in the midst of horror, but we must not get so caught up in our earthly existence, instead live for our spiritual existence!
As we read all the way through, we read that satan and his prophet are thrown in the bottomless pit for 1000 years.
Their deception will end for 1000 years. Then they will be released one last time to deceive and they will fail immediately and be destroyed forever! Forever, will their deception be ceased!
As you read on down, we read of a new Heaven, a new earth, and a new Jerusalem; there God will dwell with His people........The conclusion of the matter for me is Revelation 22:3 “And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:”
That declaration right there brings all of this into perspective for me....
What Jesus’ coming does for us is to bring to a close the curse that has been on us since mankind was cast out of the garden of Eden.
No more curse and now our home will be in the presence of God and Jesus Christ!
We miss all of that when we get caught up in how awful it will be in that day! When we read of the destruction and we ponder on our earthly existence, then we miss the glorious appearing of Christ, Who bring to an end the deception, sin, and defiled!
God will never have to judge sin again, the curse of humanity is gone!
I have a good life, good family, good friends, good brothers and sisters, I am blessed! Not because I have merited any of those good things, but because of grace I have them!
Jesus tells us Matthew 5:45 “That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.”
Everyone experiences good and bad from time to time, that is not a measure of how good you are or not!
The reason why we measure things that way is that we are fixated on the earth.......and if what we are reading is true and I believe it is, there is a greater day coming!
So much so, Paul tells us: 1 Corinthians 2:9 “But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.”
I am not telling you to get down on this life, but to rejoice in the promise of eternal life with God the Father and God the Son!
At the close of Ezekiel’s prophecy Ezekiel 48:35 “It was round about eighteen thousand measures: and the name of the city from that day shall be, The Lord is there.”
The Lord is there, that is our promised new home!
All of this is why the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the power of God, because of His Love!
The world will be destroyed because of sin everyone and everything in it!
But Jesus, Galatians 1:3-4 “Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ, Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:”
Luke 17:20-37.........Jesus describes His coming..........in His description, He tells us that just like in Noah’s day and Sodom’s day folks will be carrying on about their business........
In the first 3 1/2 years of the tribulation folks will have a false peace and be going about their normal routines and then the last 3 1/2 years will be God’s judgement and then Christ’s coming!
He tells them something very profound.....remember Lot’s wife! They all knew, I hope you know.....
Sodom and Gomorrah is an example of God’s judgement in the last days, which Lot and his family were told about the upcoming destruction and fled the city....
God told them not to look back, but Lot’s wife did and was turned to a pillar of salt....basically receiving the judgement of the city that she longed for!
That is Jesus’ warning, He teaches us in Matthew 6:19-20 “Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:”
Jesus also tells us later in Matthew 6:33 “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
The world/this country at it’s very best is still fallen and sinful, that is a fact!
John tells us to love not the world, the love of the Father is not in the world!
Lastly, in Colossians 3:1-2 “If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.”
This is the call for anyone who has been risen with Christ..........set your affections on Him and where He dwells!
2 Corinthians 5:1 “For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.”
If you are risen with Christ is the prerequisite, if not then we are like Lot’s wife, she saw the horror of the destruction of her city, but to those that have believed in the Glory of God through Christ see the Glorious appearing of Jesus Christ!
