John 5:19-24: The One True God

For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.

Intro

Jesus is God.

That is the fundamental confession of our faith.

The world might see Jesus as a good man…a wise man…a prophet...

But only Christians worship Him as God.

And this isn’t just a fine point of theology…a doctrine you merely affirm before you move on to something else.

Jesus being God:

Number 1: Gives us great assurance that God has accepted us in the gospel and we are truly saved.

It speaks to our identity as sons and daughters of God beloved by the Father, not merely tolerated.

And it defines the course and direction of our life as we strive, in all things, to worship Christ and give Him the honor He deserves.

John 5:19-24 is one of the most unique and important passages of God’s Word.

This passage is sometimes called the Divinity Sermon.

No where else in the gospels to we find Jesus identifying Himself so clearly and explicitly with the Father as the eternal Son of God openly declaring His own Divinity as eternal God incarnate in human flesh.

A claim so preposterous that if true makes definitive a claim on every person that has ever lived and confronts everyone to reckon themselves with Christ and forces them to ask, “What am I going to do with Jesus.”

In the background of everything we are going to talk about today, I want us to remember what Jesus said in John 10:30: I and the Father are one.

That is a summary of everything Jesus says in this passage.

The Big Idea for today is this:

Jesus is eternal God, One with and Equal to the Father, and the only way to be saved is through faith in Him.

Just before this passage the Jews, Jesus’ opponents, began arguing with Jesus because John 5:18: He was even calling God his own Father making himself equal with God.

And far from correcting them, Jesus said clearly I am equal with God in every way, not as another God is if there were more God’s than one, but God Himself worthy of all glory, honor, adoration and praise.

We are going to have four points today of how Jesus is one with and equal to the Father.

So let’s start with point number 1...

I. Jesus is One with the Father in His Work, Mission, and Will

John 5:19-20 So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of his own accord, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, that the Son does likewise. For the Father loves the Son and shows him all that he himself is doing. And greater works than these will he show him, so that you may marvel.

Anytime Jesus says Truly, truly I say to you, what He is saying is emphatic.

It is absolutely true.

Definitively true with no room for question or debate.

Its foundational truth…the kind you build your life on and take all the way to the bank.

And He says Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of his own accord, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, that the Son does likewise.

Now you might notice Jesus says the Son can do nothing of His own accord.

But this does not speak to Jesus’ power or ability as if there was some limitation to what Jesus, as the Son, could do.

If there were such a limitation, then Jesus would not be God.

But that’s clearly not what’s going on here.

Because Jesus also says, for whatever the Father does, that the Son does likewise.

He does whatever He sees His Father doing no matter what that is.

And that’s an impossible claim.

Who could possibly say they can do whatever they see God doing?

That they can do all the things God does?

No one! Absolutely no one. Its impossible. He’s almighty God.

That were unless that man were God Himself.

Jesus is God.

So what does it mean that Christ can do nothing of His own accord?

Look down at John 5:30: I can do nothing on my own. As I hear, I judge, and my judgment is just, because I seek not my own will but the will of him who sent me.

In other words, when Jesus says the Son can do nothing of His own accord, what He is saying is I cannot act independently of the Father.

I am one with God and work and I speak in complete unison with His perfect will.

In His will and in His work Christ was absolutely one with the Father.

He could not do anything outside of the perfect communion He shared with God because He is of one nature with the Father Himself.

They share one nature, one will, one purpose and one work because Jesus is one with the Father.

Trinity

This is where we need to clearly define the doctrine of the Trinity.

Because we want to be explicitly clear that Jesus is not another God working alongside the Father, He is one with the Father Himself.

The Christian understanding of God is that God is Trinity.

There is One God and there is no other.

And this One God eternally exists in three divine persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

And the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are all fully coequally, coeternally God.

They are not three parts of God…Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are all together God Himself.

God is One Being God, one essence, indivisible, One God, and three divine persons.

This is a mystery...something we would never know unless God Himself had not revealed it because we are finite creatures and cannot comprehend the infinite glory of an infinite God.

Maybe the easiest place to see this is in the Great Commission.

Matthew 28:18-20 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name [singular...one Being, One Essence, One God] of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit [three divine persons].

And it is with this understanding of the Doctrine of the Trinity that we can say Jesus is One with God.

Like John said all the way back in John 1:1...

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Christ was in the beginning. Eternally existing before anything that was made was made.

He is not created…something that can only be said of God Himself.

He was with God.

In the Greek the idea is He was face to face with God.

Sharing deep, personal, intimate, and eternal communion with God Himself.

He is a distinct person within the Trinity but He is not another God Himself.

Why?

Because the Word was with God and the Word was God.

The Word was distinct from God in face to face interpersonal communion with Him, but at the same time the Word was God, identical with God Himself.

And then John 1:14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

That’s Jesus Christ. The eternal Son of God incarnate in human flesh.

Colossians 1:15 He is the image of the invisible God.

Hebrews 1:3 He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature.

He is all that God is and the full revelation of His glory, and in perfect obedience to God’s will He reveals His glory and makes Him known so that in His works we would see the glory of God and worship Him for all He’s worth. (John 1:18).

T hat’s why John John 5:20 says For the Father loves the Son and shows him all that he himself is doing. And greater works than these will he show him, so that you may marvel.

Remember. Christ does all the works that He sees His Father doing.

He carries out the family business so to speak and makes God known.

And so what does the Father Do? He shows Him all His works so that we would see all the glory of God in Jesus Christ with the purpose that we would marvel, or in other words worship His holy Name.

Back to Earth

Now that’s a lot of high theology, especially for the first point in a sermon, so let’s bring it down to earth so that we might see what this matters for us today.

The Big Idea is Jesus is one with the Father.

And being One with the Father, all of His works were done in perfect obedience to the Father’s will.

I can do nothing of my own accord.

Everything Jesus did was in perfect harmony with the Father.

He never once acted or spoke independent of Him but always faithfully carried out His will.

Being One God there was not a division of wills between Jesus and the Father. They worked in perfect harmony together.

Now here is why that is such a comfort.

If Christ only ever did the will of the Father, than surely our salvation is a result of God’s sovereign will and grace.

It is God’s will to save sinners.

On the one hand, that means God that when Christ died on the cross, God has most assuredly accepted his sacrifice on our behalf.

How do we know we are saved?

How do we know that God looked upon Christ’s sacrifice with favor and counted it as full atonement for all out sins?

Isaiah 53:10 It was the will of the Lord to crush him.

Salvation was a work of the Triune God united in perfect will to save sinners.

How could God ever deny the perfect blood of Christ He Himself willed to pay for our sin.

How could He ever deny Christ’s pray Father forgive them when it was the working out of His own perfect will to do so?

Christ being one with God in work, mission, and will gives us the full assurance that if we put our faith in Christ God will surely forgive us, love us, and accept us.

Christ only ever did the will of the Father and it was God’s will to do so.

On the other hand Christ being one with the Father in His work, mission and will shows us that God does not save us or accept us begrudgingly

He is not a reluctant Savior as if He didn’t really want to forgive but Christ twisted His arm to do so.

He is the God of our salvation.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16).

Romans 5:8 God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

God loved us and saved us because it was His perfect will to do so and we know it was His perfect will because we see it in Christ.

Some Christians struggle with hard thoughts about God.

That He is aloof, angry, always disappointed.

But If ever you start to doubt God’s love for you...look no further than Jesus Christ.

Look no further than the Son and remind yourself He is one with the Father and lived all of His life in perfect conformity to His will.

All of His works were God’s works...God’s will...including His work on the cross.

When Jesus laid down His life for you, it was the will of the Father for Him to do so.

It was the will of the Father that Christ would purchase you with His blood to give you everlasting life and the right to become a child of God.

And what that means is God doesn’t have any outcasts in His family.

Including you.

All He has are sons and daughters...

Beloved sons and daughters as beloved as His only Son.

Praying to the Father Jesus said you have loved them even as you loved me (John 17:23).

How does God love the Eternally Beloved Son?

Perfectly. Fully. Abundantly. Eternally.

Before Foundation of the World = Eternally

Perfect Obedience = Perfectly and fully. Nothing to detract or make it wane

As the Eternal Son, Beloved by God, the glory of the Father = Abundantly

This is my beloved Son with whom, I am well pleased.

That is how God loves you.

Perfectly. Fully. Abundantly. Eternally all because of Christ and in Christ and through Christ.

Because Christ lived, suffered and died in perfect harmony with the will, mission and work of the Father there can be no doubt that God accepted His sacrifice and that everyone who believes in Him will be saved.

That His blood will cover them in perfect righteousness and once for all wash away all their sins.

And that takes us to point number 2...

II. Jesus is One with the Father in His Power to Save

John 5:21 For as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, so also the Son gives life to whom he will.

Here again Jesus makes a clear statement that He is unequivocally equal with God.

The Bible teaches that only God has the power to give life from the dead.

Deuteronomy 32:39 See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god beside me; I kill and I make alive; I wound and I heal; and there is none that can deliver out of my hand.

1 Samuel 2:6 The Lord kills and brings to life; he brings down to Sheol and raises up.

Only God has the power over life and death.

And that’s because He alone has life in Himself.

He is the fountain of living waters.

All life, all breath, everything comes from Him and depends on Him for their existence .

But not God. He exists within Himself.

He is dependent on no one and nothing.

He is perfectly and eternally self-sufficient and is Himself the source of life for all things.

Even our very breath comes from God (Acts 17:25).

And here Christ says so also the Son gives life to whom He will.

For as the Father has life in Himself and raises the dead, so also does Christ have life in Himself to give life to whom He will.

It could not be clearer. Jesus Christ is God.

No one else has life within Himself and depends on nothing for His own existence.

No one else has the power over life and death…to bring life from the dead.

Jesus is God.

Or as John said in John 1:4 In him was...life and the life was the light of men.

Theologically

But to see the full significance of this, I want us to look at this for a moment theologically.

Where did death come from?

Sin. Its part of the curse.

Its what we all deserve. For the wages of sin is death (Rom. 6:23).

But God having power over death says He is sovereign over sin, death, and the curse.

In other words, He has the power to save.

So theologically Christ is not just saying He is God He is also the Savior of the World.

The Messiah. The One sent by God to reverse the curse and save His people from their sin.

And Christ proves His power to save over sin and death in His earthly miracles like raising Lazarus from the dead where He said I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?

And then He raised Lazarus from the dead after being in the grave for four days.

So one of the things this obviously points to is the Resurrection where Christ will return and all in the tombs will hear His voice and come out, some to the resurrection of life and some to the resurrection of Judgment (John 5:28-29).

We will look at that in more detail next week.

But notice what Christ says.

So also the Son gives life…present tense…to whom He will.

The present tense tells us Christ has, primarily in mind, spiritual life.

This is after all the major emphasis of the gospel.

You must be born again (John 3:7)..

John 4:14 Whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.

The Bible is clear we are dead in our trespasses and sins (Eph 2:1).

But the good news of the gospel is Eph 2:4-5 But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved.

And Christ is the One who comes to give this life. This resurrection that saves everyone who believes in Him from eternal condemnation and death.

And notice, the Son gives this life to whom He will.

It is the work of His own sovereign grace.

We are not saved through our will in choosing to come to Christ.

Christ gives salvation to whom He will.

We are born again not of the will or power of the flesh, nor the will of man, but of God (John 1:13).

Salvation is a sovereign work of God’s grace where He opens blind eyes and draws sinners to Himself.

And lest we forget, this will is in perfect unity with God the Father because remember verse 19 Jesus said He could do nothing apart from the Father.

So those Christ wills to save, are those God chose to save out of the good pleasure of His will before the foundation of the world (Eph. 1:4).

God chose us and predestined us for adoption as sons and entrusted us to Christ (Eph 1:5).

And Christ working in perfect conformity with God’s will, came to seek and save the lost.

All those the Father had entrusted to Him to save.

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me (John 10:27).

Here’s the Big Idea.

Christ, as Eternal God, has the power to save and He gives life to whom He wills.

And whoever He saves, He will raise up on the last day when He washes away every trace and stain of sin and swallows up death once and for all.

Our salvation is secure in Christ and the united, sovereign will of Almighty God.

It does not rest in the strength of our faith or our will or our choosing.

Our salvation rests entirely in the almighty strength and sovereign will of our Savior.

And as Christ promised John 10:27-30 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.

Christ has the power to give life and He gives life to whomever He wills.

And whoever He saves, He will save from eternal death and condemnation.

And that takes us to point number 3...

III. Jesus is One with the Father in Authority

John 5:22 For the Father judges no one, but has given all judgment to the Son.

Here again Jesus is unequivocally declaring He is one with God and equal to God.

He has told us that He can do all that God can do and everything He does is according to God’s perfect will because He is One with the Father.

He has the power to give life from the dead, something only God can do.

And here, He has the authority to judge.

The Father judges no one.

Now this is odd because the Old Testament clearly says God is judge of all the earth (Gen 18:25).

But Jesus says God has entrusted all judgment to the Son.

What this means is that the Father judges no one, that is, no one on His own.

He judges everyone in, through, and by Jesus Christ.

Acts 17:30-31 The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent, because he has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed; and of this he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead.

This makes perfect sense because Christ’s will is God’s will.

If Christ judges it is the judgment of God because they are perfectly One.

But here’s what that means for us.

One day, everyone will stand before the Lord and give an account for our life (Rom. 14:12).

We will stand before the Great White Throne of Judgment where Christ will decide the eternal destiny of everyone that has ever lived.

In that regard, you will give an account to Christ for your life.

Will you be prepared to meet Him on that day?

Hebrews 9:27 It is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment.

Will you stand before Christ naked and ashamed condemned in your unrighteousness and sin?

Or will you be clothed in the dazzling white robes of the righteousness of Christ washed in the blood of the Lamb?

There is no escaping it. We will all face the Day of Judgment.

And we will all be judged according to the perfect righteousness of Christ.

God has appointed Him as Judge of the earth because He was tempted in every way as we are and yet without sin (Hebrews 4:15).

Everyone will be without excuse.

Unless your righteousness matches the sinless, righteousness of Christ, you will stand condemned.

There will be no appeal to your good works or whether you were a good person or better than someone because Christ is the standard.

He is the One by whom we will be judged and anything less than perfect sinless righteousness will fail to meet the test because God has said The soul that sins shall die (Ezek. 18:20).

But everyone who puts their faith in Christ will be clothed in His righteousness and washed in His blood.

And this is a great comfort to us as Christians because we do not have to fear the Day of Judgment.

There is no condemnation in Christ.

Our Judge is the One who saved us from our sins and it is unthinkable that He would look at His precious blood and the suffering He endured under the full wrath of God and say…Not enough.

Everyone who trusts in Christ will be saved from their sin.

That’s why now commands everyone everywhere to repent.

Because God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through Him (John 3:17).

Jesus is Equal with God in Authority.

Number 4...

IV. Jesus is One with the Father in Honor and Glory

John 5:22-23 For the Father judges no one, but has given all judgment to the Son, that all may honor the Son, just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him.

Here Christ tells us the purpose the Father has given all judgment to the Son.

That all may honor the Son, just as they honor the Father.

The word honor means to set a price. To judge and evaluate the worth of something. Evaluating something and giving it a high esteem and proper due.

In regards to God, the idea is Reverence. Worship. Glory. And Holy Fear.

And Jesus says the same honor you give to God, you should give to me.

That all may honor the Son, just as, in the same way and to the same degree, they honor the Father.

This is a bold claim.

For any man to claim this is complete and utter blasphemy.

God clearly says Isaiah 42:8 I am the Lord; that is my name; my glory I give to no other, nor my praise to carved idols.

He is a God that is jealous for His own glory.

Exodus 34:14 For you shall worship no other god, for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.

Christ could only say this if He is truly God Himself.

And then Christ says Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.

Not honoring Christ as the One True God and worshiping Him for all He’s worth, not only fails to please God or honor Him, it actively dishonors Him as Christ is the only way to know the Father.

I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me (John 14:6).

The only way to know God the Father as Father is through the Son Jesus Christ.

The only way to worship Him for all that He is in spirit and truth is by worshiping Him through Jesus Christ.

Why?

Hebrews 1:3 He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature.

In Christ we see all the glory of God in all that He is.

We see His love, mercy, grace.

Holiness, righteousness and justice.

Wisdom, power, wrath and forgiveness.

That’s why we worship God in and through Jesus Christ.

He is the only way to truly know, love, honor, and worship the Father.

God is invisible and without Christ we would never know Him as He truly is.

But in the incarnation, the eternal Son of God, the full radiance of the glory of God took on human flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father (John 1:14).

John 1:18 No one has ever seen God; the only God, who is at the Father’s side, he has made him known.

So whoever does not know Christ does not know God.

They do not honor Him or please Him.

There are not many religions to God. There is one and His name is Jesus Christ.

The Father and the Son share the same honor and glory. To honor one, is to honor the other and vice versa.

It could not be clearer Jesus is God.

He is one with the Father in all His work.

He is one with the Father in His power to save having life within himself giving that life freely to all who believe in him.

He is one with the Father in authority as judge of all the earth.

And He is one with the Father in honor and glory.

Now what does that mean for all of us?

Here is where we get to our application.

Everyone is called to honor Christ.

And what that means, how we honor Christ is by believing in Him and worshiping Him as Lord.

Verse 24...

John 5:24 Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.

When Christ says Truly, truly, that is a statement of indisputable fact.

A firm foundation you can build your whole life upon and take all the way to the bank.

Honoring Christ looks like saving faith. Trusting in Him with all of your heart, mind, soul, and strength.

Worshiping Him as Lord and Savior, the One sent by God to be a Mediator for all our sins, with all of your life.

And those who have eternal life are characterized by 2 things.

Whoever hears my word, and believes Him who sent me.

Don’t miss this, Jesus equates hearing His Word with believing God Himself.

Again Jesus is God.

Gospel

And the Word is the good news of the gospel.

That we were all dead in our trespasses and sins and God, in His great love for us sent His Son Jesus Christ.

He lived a perfect and sinless life to fulfill the Law on our behalf.

And He died on the cross in our place for our sins.

He took on our sin and suffered the wrath of God offering His blood as payment for the wages of sin is death, and in exchange He gave to us His perfect righteousness.

He died and was buried and rose again three days later victorious over sin, Satan, and death so that whoever believes in Him would not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16).

That is the good news of our salvation.

And hearing and believing involves spiritual hearing and believing with saving faith.

And this honors Christ because it is saying He is God, Lord, Savior, and Redeemer.

He is worthy of all glory, power, honor and dominion, and God is true in Him.

He is holy, just, righteous and good.

He atones for our sin and punishes our sin in Jesus Christ that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus (Rom 3:26).

Eternal Life

And the promise for everyone who believes is he has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed form death to life.

This is a present reality. Something we already possess in Jesus Christ.

Eternal life in John 17:3 is communion with the Father in and through Jesus Christ.

And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.

Where once our sin separated us from God and we wasted away under His judgment and wrath, now we have communion with God which is only possible through the full forgiveness of our sin.

In this way, eternal life is the fullness of Salvation.

And an eternal salvation.

Whoever has eternal life now is eternally secure forever.

Whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God (John 3:18).

But whoever believes does not come into judgment but has passed from death to life.

Christ took our judgment on our behalf.

He who knew no sin became sin and was made a curse for us.

He was condemned that we might be saved.

Application

Unbeliever

The question is do you believe? Do you honor the Son to the glory of the Father?

Have you trusted in Christ and repented of all your sins.

That is what it means to hear and believe.

We trust in Christ for salvation and we follow Him as Lord.

The Jews missed it.

They did not honor Jesus as God.

At His trial, Caiaphas the High Priest of the Temple said to Jesus “I adjure you by the living God, tell us if you are the Christ, the Son of God.” (Matthew 26:63).

And Jesus said You have said so. But I tell you, from now on you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of Power and coming on the clouds of heaven (Matthew 26:64).

And the High Priest tore his robes and said, “He has uttered blasphemy. What further witnesses do we need? You have now heard his blasphemy. What is your judgment?” [And] They answered, “He deserves death.” (Matthew 26:65-66).

And so the Jews handed Christ over to the Romans and together, Jew and Gentile, the whole sinful world together, murdered the Lord of glory.

But in God’s wonderful plan that cross became salvation for everyone who believes.

Come to Christ today. Trust in Him. Worship Him as God come to save you from your sins and you will be saved.

Christian

And for the Christian...

You have passed from death to life.

You have been saved once for all in Christ Jesus.

There is no condemnation and death. No more judgment.

Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this? (John 11:25-26).

His death is your death. His righteousness your righteousness.

In Christ God, has given you eternal life - the fullness of salvation and full adoption as one of God’s own beloved sons or daughters.

Honor the Lord! Worship God in Christ.

Give thanks to Him. Live for Him.

Let nothing hold you back from knowing Christ and the power of His Resurrection.

Lay down your life as a holy sacrifice and say all of my life is yours.

Conclusion

Jesus is God.

He is one with and equal to the Father in every way.

He is one with the Father in His work, Mission, and Will.

He shares the same nature, power, mission, and mind as God the Father.

Impossible if He were not God Himself.

He is one with the Father in His power to save.

As the Father gives life so He gives life.

He has life within himself, and the power to give life to those who are dead in their trespasses and sin and raise them to new everlasting life.

He is one with the Father in Authority.

God has entrusted all judgment to Him.

All will stand before Christ and give an account for their life.

And He is One with the Father in Honor and Glory.

Christ is the Word made flesh.

The Eternal Son of God come to save us from our sins.

He is one with and equal to God and the only way to be saved is through faith in Him.

And in His great humility and love for us…pity and compassion for the misery of our sin...

He did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father (Phil 2:6-11).
