14 Then immediately the brethren sent Paul away, to go to the sea; but both Silas and Timothy remained there.

Acts 17:10 (NKJV)
10 Then the brethren immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea. When they arrived, they went into the synagogue of the Jews.
1. It wasn’t the first time Paul had to leave town, (he was rushed out o town) and it wouldn’t be the last. He kept on moving forward with God’s Word.
a. When you share the gospel and it is rejected, don’t stop, move on, keep the faith, and fight the good fight.
b. To have the faith the courage, the endurance of Paul. Most would have given up and gone back home by now.
c. How was Paul able to endure? ACTS 9:15-16
15 But the Lord said to him, “Go, for he is a chosen vessel of Mine to bear My name before Gentiles, kings, and the children of Israel.
16 For I will show him how many things he must suffer for My name’s sake.”
Paul leaves Thessalonica with the help of the brethren. Elab on how we need to help one another.
“When they arrived, they went into the synagogue of the Jews.”
Paul now in Berea. First place he goes is the Synagogue.
Different town, different synagogue, different people, same message, Jesus.
Every time Paul would go to the synagogues, he preached Jesus. Some would believe, but most would not.
Those that didn’t would rise up against Paul.
He had been stoned, beaten, thrown into prison. So what does he do when he arrives at a new city? He go to the synagogue. Why?
Because of his love for people. Here it was the Jews, his people.
Paul loved the people who wanted to harm.
2 that I have great sorrow and continual grief in my heart.
3 For I could wish that I myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my countrymen according to the flesh,
Now that is a great love.
People will be mean to you. People may hate you. But, we still have to love those people.
Paul loved them, so kept on preaching Jesus, he kept serving God.
Our love for people, (Lost) Fellow believers should be so strong that no matter what, we get serving God.
But here is what we do. Someone speaks bad of us, hurts us in some way, we no longer show love for them.
Peter denied Jesus, but Jesus still loved him.
So will get to the point that they no longer want to serve God.
You can’t anyone or anything keep you from Loving and serving God. Or loving others.
Satan wants to get anger, get hurt, and lose your joy.
Pastors quit.
I know a lot of people who at one time served God, but now no longer go to church.
I’ve heard of people who didn’t like their pastor, so they stopped giving so the church could no longer pay their pastor and he had to leave.
They stopped serving God in their giving.
When difficulties (Trails) we looked at this a few weeks ago.
It’s easy to quit when things get difficult. This is when our love for Gods word, our love for God, and our love for others comes into to play.
You can’t do it on your own.
24 Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart, All you who hope in the Lord.
29 He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength.
How do you get through what ever it is that is trying to keep us from serving God and loving others? We can’t do it on our own, only through the power of God.
Acts 17:11 (NKJV)
11 These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.
1. The Jews at Berea were more KJV noble. More fare-minded. They had more charter. They were willing to listen to Paul’s expiation of the scriptures. They had an open mind for seeking the truth.
a. They were “fair-minded, they listened with “readiness of mind” They searched the scriptures.
The Bereas were eager, they wanted to hear Gods word with “readiness of mind”
You must be ready (eager) for Gods word.
But it not just a time of hearing someone preach, its time we send time in Gods word.
In the morning.
Before you go to sleep.
“and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.”
It was more then just hearing what Paul had to say. It was searching, getting into it, studying it.
You can’t just take someones word or it. Well he’s a preacher he must be right. This is how cults get started.
“Look how often they searched Gods word. "daily to find out whether these things were so”
They wanted to see if what Paul was talking about “Jesus” was so.
They didn’t just believe Paul.
But they didn’t say, this guy is nuts.
They searched to see or themselves.

13 But when the Jews from Thessalonica learned that the word of God was preached by Paul at Berea, they came there also and stirred up the crowds.
Even when people stir things up, we still have to love them.
1. What was with these of Thessalonica? They get the word that Paul I preaching the Word of God in Berea.
They didn’t want it their town, and they didn’t want anyone else to hear it.
a. So they go to Berea and stir up the people. What was it that upset them so bad? The Word of God.
b. Why didn’t Paul didn’t give up. (Because of his love for people)
c. Satan doesn’t give up either. He hates the gospel, he use any means he can to stop you, me, and anyone from sharing the gospel.
d. The stronger we are in our faith, the more we share the gospel, the more attacks that will come from Satan.
f. Never let your guard down.
