Fellowship and Purpose
What was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have observed and have touched with our hands, concerning the word of life—that life was revealed, and we have seen it and we testify and declare to you the eternal life that was with the Father and was revealed to us—what we have seen and heard we also declare to you, so that you may also have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. We are writing these things so that our joy may be complete.
Creation- That which was from the Beginning-
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
God has been, and always will be.
Creation is the culmination of God’s love- which is our fellowship with Him
This is why He says,
Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, according to our likeness. They will rule the fish of the sea, the birds of the sky, the livestock, the whole earth, and the creatures that crawl on the earth.”
The Lord is Spirit, and we have a Spirit which is why we have the ability to have Fellowship with God.
We are unlike any else that was created, because we were created for fellowship-
For relationship, with God, and with each other.
This is why John writes
This is how we have come to know love: He laid down his life for us. We should also lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.
1 John 1:3 (CSB)
what we have seen and heard we also declare to you, so that you may also have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.
WE were created for fellowship with the Creator- Love the Lord your God, God shows us love
But God proves his own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Fellowship with God is based on Truth and Love
