Love is an action word

not in words but in deeds

love can be proven

love can be demonstrated

God type love is not just action, but a sacrificial action

the old rule that a man buying an engagement ring must spend 3 months worth of salary.

that rule is there because in order to take the young lady officially off the dating market, he must prove and demonstrate his love by giving up a quarter of his yearly earnings.

so if a man making 40,000 per year buys you a 10,000 ring . . . that’s love, that’s taking 40 hours per week for 12 straight weeks and spending every dime he made on you.

if a millionaire buys you a 10,000 that’s about 4 days work of work, not even one week

I’m not saying that is the best use of money but it is a good analogy for us

Greatest sacrifice is sacrificing yourself

money and rings and things can be regained

but when you exchange your life, there is no replacement

for his friends

exchanging your life for another
