What happens in a reset

Its time for a do over.

Brothers and sisters, boys and girls. I know and there are probably times in our lives where we do not think we need a do over. We probably often think what will a do over do for me. Honestly if the truth be told we have a mentality of we made ourselves and entertain a spirit of pride and that has called us to think we don’t need a do over or a reset.

We have let our arrogance get in the way of our belief. Now we believe more in our ability to do things and it has caused us to think to ourselves we don’t need a refreshing or refilling.

Brothers and sisters we must be careful and realize that it is not we ourselves but it is God working through us.

Yes God has equipped us but we need a resetting and a refresher sometimes.

Church there is nothing wrong with a resetting. Even the bible tells us in Romans 12:2

Romans 12:2 NLT

Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

In the KJV it says that you need a renewing of your mind.

In this world we come into contact and see so much that we need a renewal of the Mind because if we don’t renew our minds we will stumble and fall into the practices and things of the World.

Just look at a neighbor and say neighbor I don’t know about you but I need a Renewed mind.

Cause it was the renewed mindset that kept me from going off

It was the renewed mindset that kept me from cussing them out

It was the renewed mindset that kept me from throwing in the towel and giving up because in my renewed mindset I heard Job saying though he slay me yet will I trust him

It was my renewed mindset that reminded me I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me

It was my renewed mindset that told greater is he in me than he that is in the word

It was my renewed mindset that told me It is in Christ who I live move and have my being.

It was my renewed mindset that told me trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not to thine own understanding

It was my renewed mindset that told me that all things work together for the Good of them who love the lord and are called according to his purpose.

I just need 5 people and ill make 6 that can pause for the cause right here and praise God for a renewed mindset!!!

Church we got to keep our mind renewed so we can say Not my will but thine be done.

Not only that but in studying I found out that a Reset is purposeful.

Church I found something out in my studies that a Reset is often necessary. What I found is Factory resetting the device to its original state helps solve any software or configuration issues, allowing it to function normally again. This can include fixing issues with software updates, fixing errors in the operating system, and improving overall performance.

Looking here at this I begin to think. In the christian life we sometimes need a factory reset. We need a factory reset to return back to our original state because we have times in our life where we don’t function as a christian should. Not only that we got issues and we need and need to be updated.

As a christian we have not been called to stay in the same place but some upgrades should be taking place on this christian walk. We must upgrade so as a christian we need to do some growing we can’t be in the same place, growth must take place.

Thats a sensitive area because we have saints now that have become too comfortable because they have titles and have been elevated and now they forget how the elevation came. It came because they were first staying humble and not only that they stayed in their word.

It amazes me how once we get elevated we forget what got us the elevation.

However christians must have updates and upgrades.

Also the definition tells us that a reset can fix some errors in the operating system

People of God, In this christian journey we haver errors and make errors and from those errors our operating system can be jacked up but when we learn how to reset, God can fix our errors. God can take our system that is full of error and align it into the position that it needs to be.

Just look at your neighbor and say Neighbor let the Lord reset you.

Is there anybody here that needs a reset.

I got some errors and some issues. i’ve Been stagnant I been complacent but today is the Day. I don’t want to be in the same position anymore. I need the Lord to Reset me.

Just put your hand on your chest and Holler Lord Reset me.

Now we get here to our text and its 3 things I want to Pull out here in the Text.

In the scripture we Read today we see here that this is Jesus talking. He is writing a letter to the church of Ephesus.

Ephesus was the first of 7 Churches that Got a message from The saviour.

The Church of Ephesus was no stranger to Good Word.

Ephesus had been ministered to for nearly 3 years by Paul to warn them of false teachers and that the false teachers would come to try and teach them wrong . but we also see how the Ephesians resisted from converting and listening to the false teachings.

So we see here some letters written to the churches and it starts off all smooth. and you can read it in your leisure time in verses 1-3 Jesus is commending the church of Ephesus on the great job they have been doing.

We can see here that the church of Ephesus had been resisting the things of the World.

Cause here in Ephesus we learn that it was a very Sexual Immoral City, that worshipped a goddess by the name of Artemis. Let the Church say Artemis.

So we see here even in the midst of false worship of other gods, the church held its ground.

The church made it through the lies and the deception of false teachers and they stayed patient and endured through the process without quitting.

Church I have come to encourage and commend you today to keep standing for what it right.

We must be like the Church of Ephesus in this one aspect because we Got people in the Church preaching a fake gospel.

We got Pastors saying wrong is right and right is wrong

We got leaders telling their congregation that Its ok to Identify as something you are not and its okay for you to sleep with someone and you are not married.

Church its not okay We must stick with what the Word says,

The Word Says its a sin and I don’t know about you but I am going to stick with What works and thats the Word.

Heaven and Earth will pass away but my Word remain.

The Grass Wither and the Flowers Fade but The Word of the Lord will stand forever.

The old Saints use to sing a song I know the bible is right somebody is wrong.

Just Look down your row and say row stick with the Word.

So They get commended on sticking with the Word but something else comes up and this brings me to my First Point.

The Text says in Revelation 2:4

Revelation 2:4 NLT

“But I have this complaint against you. You don’t love me or each other as you did at first!

Point 1: What happens in a reset is first you are Rebuked.

The bible says they were commended on what they had been doing standing on Gods word and keeping what he said.

Then The Lord rebukes them and tells the Church you have left your First love.

I begin ponder and ask myself why is it after they have just been commended they are now being rebuked.

Pastor Fuller I found out something in my short time of living when you Love something or someone. Sometimes your love can fade away over time. Okay let me tell on myself

Growing up I was a huge wrestling fan I had all the gear the championship belts and even went to wrestlemania when they had it in orlando and had a good time.

However as i began to get older my Love for wrestling begin to fade away.

We see here that Jesus Notices something Yes i commend you for keeping your stance but its something different about you. You see over in Ephesians he commends them for their Love but here in Revelation they are being rebuked.

I just believe that the saints had lost some love and zeal and thats why Jesus comes and Rebukes them.

Brothers and sisters I am not here to rebuke you today because I am not your pastor and that is not my job.

However i did come to encourage you today that its time to get your Fire back.

You don’t do the things that use to do anymore, Its time to get your fire back.

The old Saints would put it Like this

Oh Zion you don’t pray like you use to Pray whats the Matter now

Oh Zion you don’t sing like you use to sing

Oh Zion you don’t preach like you use to preach

Well church if the truth be Told we have lost our fire and Zeal

But I come to agitate you today and Prophesy that you get your fire back.

I Prophesy that you’ll be like Jeremiah that it’ ll be like Fire Shut up in your bones

Just touch somebody around you and say get your fire back.....

The first thing that happens in a reset is Rebuking

Point 2: The Second thing that happens in a reset in Restoration.

We see here that Yes Christ rebukes the church but in the text he shows us yes I rebuked but he tells us and gives us what it takes to be restored in a reset.

Look here at Revelation 2:5

Revelation 2:5 NLT

Look how far you have fallen! Turn back to me and do the works you did at first. If you don’t repent, I will come and remove your lampstand from its place among the churches.

Clause A of verse 5 tells us how to be restored after rebuke. Its simple he says Turn back to me and do what you did at first.

Restoration is here but this is what you must do. First we got to turn. What are we turning from we are turning from the things that has caused us to lose our focus and distracted us from our purpose.

What has Caused you to lose your Zeal and fire? I Can’t answer that for you, but I can encourage you today whatever it is that has been holding you down and back it is time to turn away from it. When we make a turn we can’t do a 360 cause you will be right back where you started but you got to do a 180 So you can say like Paul old things are passed away the old things are behind me now and all things are becoming new.

Just look at a neighbor and tell them it’s time to turn.

I know friends are still there but its time to turn

I Know family members are still doing those things but its time to turn

Its time to Turn. I Just dare 6 of ya’ll to just jump up and do Prophetically do a 180 because you are turning away from some things

And I Just heard the Lord Say because you just got up and turned back to me I’m Getting ready to Turn some things around in your life. Whatever has been down is getting ready to go up. I Need you to open up your Mouth and Give God Some Praise for the Turn thats about to hit your house.

Children be acting crazy well God is turning it

Money been funny well God is Turning it

Whatever it is you been facing God is Turning it.

(Calm it back down)

God is saying today I want your attention and I Want you to turn back to me you must do something after you turn. We must learn to Love like how we loved before.

God wants our love. We must learn to love on God. We love everything else but when is the last time you Loved on God. Love him in the sad times and the happy times. Love him when you are up and when you are down. We Need to regain our love for Christ not only that but for God’s people as well.

The bible tells us How can you Love God and Hate thy brother. We got too many people claiming they Love God but not his people. We have more bashing in the Church now than we do Loving.

We wonder why people talk about the church so bad it is because we don’t show them love we want to ridicule and tear them down and not show any love. We must learn how to Love everybody even if they are doing wrong love them. Dislike the sin but still show them Love because God loves you.

Love them enough to encourage and tell them how you been where they have been but the Same God that Delivered you can deliver them As Well.

We got to Love. Love God Consistently and Intentionally.

So with being Restored we must turn back to God and Love him how we first did.

My time is coming to a close but Let me give you this last point.

Church In the Reset you will Be Rebuked You will Be Restored and Lastly this is my 3rd point you will be Rewarded.

Yes Lets look at the text. The bible says in Revelation 2:7

Revelation 2:7 NLT

“Anyone with ears to hear must listen to the Spirit and understand what he is saying to the churches. To everyone who is victorious I will give fruit from the tree of life in the paradise of God.

My Brothers and sisters in this reset process you got to have your spiritual ear attentive.

Jesus is saying here You have been rebuked and restored now I need you to listen so you can be rewarded.

The bible tells us a reward is coming if we continue to listen attentively with our spiritual ear. Our Problem that we are listening with the natural ear and that is causing us to stumble and fall.

But I heard the old saints sing a Song Keep me in your pathway Lord I don’t want to stumble I don’t want to Fall keep me in your pathway Lord.

Zion Experience I Got to leave you but All I came to tell you is Hang on.. Its about to get better.

Can I call those Who went through a reset

Come here moses He was running for what was his but God reset him and he went and told Pharoah let my people Go and led the children of Israel across the red sea.

Come here David, David had a reset he came and said create in me a clean heart oh God and renew a right spirit within me.

Come here Paul, Paul had a reset we went from persecuting the Christian to Preaching to them

Come here peter, peter had a reset. He denied jesus but he got himself together and preach so until 3000 souls got saved.

Even Jesus Had a Reset Moment he almost gave in but he reset his mind on his purpose and said never the less not my will but thine will be done and he went and fulfilled his purpose by going to a Hill Called Calvary

Reset My Mind… so i can think right

Reset my tongue so i can talk right

Reset my hands so I can work right

Reset my feet so i walk right

Reset me Lord. I want to be used

Whatever you are doing in this season Don’t do it without me.
