The Knees of Jesus
I. Jesus got on His knees to serve. (John 13:1-5).
- A. He did what needed done.
- B. He taught what needed taught. (Lk. 22:24ff; John 13:4-5; Matt. 20:26-28).
- Jesus understood who He was.
II. Jesus fell to His knees to pray. (Luke 22:39ff).
- A. He showed intensity. (Mk. 14:32-36; Matt. 26:39; Lk. 22:44).
- B. He showed submission. (Psalm 95:6; II Chron. 6:13; 7:3; II Chron. 29:29; Deut. 6:10; Ezra 9:5 ; Acts 7:59-60; 9:40; 20:36; 21:5).
- Jesus understood His relationship with the Father.
III. Jesus fell to His knees in suffering.
His kneeling was involuntary yet, voluntary. (John 10:17-18).
- Jesus understood the result of His suffering: Our salvation.(Hebrews 12:2).
Am I willing to bow before God and respond to His call?
