Why We/I Need Most Valuable PRAY-ERS!
Ephesians 6:13 We do not struggle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places!
I believe it is time for us to take our PRAYER ministry to another level at Truth Tabernacle of Praise!
Today, I want to ask and answer the question of Why We/I Need To Take Our Prayer Ministry To Another Level!
**Someone once said that:
**Leadership determines the Direction of the Church
**Structure determines the Size of the Church
**Relationships determine the Morale of the Church
**Personnel determines the Potential of the Church
But Prayer determines the Effectiveness of the Church!
There is an interesting story in the Old Testament I want to utilize today to recruit and enlist more PRAY-ERS:
I. There is a WAR that we/I will FIGHT!
Exodus 17:8 “Then” Amalek came and “Fought” against Israel!
“If THEN is WHEN Amalek FOUGHT against Israel, when was then?
*Israel faced a circumstance that was life or death and a MIRACLE was NEEDED!
Exodus 17:1 Israel journeyed by stages . . . and there was NO water for the people to drink!
*When a miracle was needed, a miracle was PROVIDED!
Exodus 17:6 Behold, I will stand before you there on the Rock . . . and you shall strike the Rock, and water will come out of it, that the people may drink!
*This is the context related to the war that Israel had to fight. It is also a principle we need to remember today!
*We often find ourselves in a spiritual war that we need to fight after God has met a need in our life in a supernatural way!
A. The POWERS we/I fight are STRONG!
Exodus 17:8 Then “AMALEK” came . . . and fought against Israel!
*WHO was Amalek? He was the grandson of Esau
*WHY was Amalek fighting against Israel? He wanted to keep Israel from reaching their Destiny and from receiving their promised inheritance!
Ephesians 6:13 We do not struggle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places!
B. The PLACES we/I fight are SIGNIFICANT!
17:8 Then Amalek came . . . and fought against Israel at Rephidim!
*What was the significance of Rephidim? Many times the enemy comes to attack us at a place where previous spiritual victories have been won!
We are also attacked in places where God has done miraculous things in our lives!
C. The PATTERNS we/I face are STRATEGIC!
Deuteronomy 25:17 Remember what Amalek did to you along the way when you came out from Egypt!
Deuteronomy 25:18 how he met you along the way and attacked among you all the stragglers at your rear!
**God told Moses to “remember” what Amalek did to him along the way. What is it that Amalek did and what kind of pattern do we need to be aware of today?
**According to Deut 25: 17 Amalek met him along the way and attacked people who were straggling behind and he attacked them “FROM THE REAR”!
II. There is a WEAKNESS we/I will FEEL!
Deuteronomy 25:18 He met you along the way . . . when you were FAINT!
*What causes us to experience weakness and or fatigue?
A. Sometimes the JOURNEY makes us WEAK!
Deuteronomy 25:17 Remember what Amalek did to you ALONG the WAY, when you came out of Egypt!
Deuteronomy 25:18 He met you ALONG the WAY . . . when you were FAINT!
*Notice the phrase “Along the Way” and when you “Came out of Egypt” when you were FAINT!
B. Sometimes the BATTLE makes us WEARY!
Exodus 17:11 . . . when Moses held his hand up—Israel prevailed and when he let his hand down Amalek prevailed!
*Sometimes it’s the Journey that makes us Weak but it is the Battle that will make us Weary!
Exodus 17:12 But Moses hands were HEAVY—Aaron and Hur supported his hands!
When the Journey includes a Battle, we become weak and we become weary! But God is faithful to provide what we need to be strengthened!
III. There are WEAPONS we/I should FAVOR!
Exodus 17:13 So Joshua overwhelmed Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword!
*What do we need in order to maintain the edge on our sword?
A. We/I need SOLDIERS who will FIGHT for us!
Exodus 17:9 So Moses said to Joshua, “Choose men for us, and go out, fight against Amalek!”
B. We/I need PARTNERS who will STAND with us!
Exodus 17:10 And Moses, Aaron and Hur went up to the top of the hill . . . Aaron and Her supported his hands!
*What are some qualities of kingdom soldiers and partners?
They are able to SEE the NEED!
Exodus 17: 11 So it came about when Moses held his hand up, that Israel prevailed and when he let his hand down, Amalek prevailed!
2. They are able to SEIZE the MOMENT!
Exodus 17: 12 But Moses hands were heavy! Then they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it;
Exodus 17:12 and Aaron and Hur supported his hands, one on one side and one on the other, Thus his hands were steady until the sun set!
3. They will SHARE the VICTORY!
1 Samuel 30: 24 . . . for as his share is who goes down to the battle, so shall his share be who stays by the stuff; they shall share alike!
C. We/I need ALTARS that are ESTABLISHED for us!
Exodus 17:15 (Then), Moses built an altar . . .
Exodus 17:15 Moses built an altar and named it YHWH NISSI!
*What does the name NISSI mean? The Lord Is My Banner!
Numbers 21:8 . . . Make a fiery serpent, and set it on a standard (Nissi)
______YES, I would like to become one of my Pastor’s Most Valuable Prayers! Please add my name to one of the four teams!
