The word Amen

2 Corinthians 1:20 ESV
For all the promises of God find their Yes in him. That is why it is through him that we utter our Amen to God for his glory.
149 uses by Jesus in the gospels
27 uses after that by the apostles
to say amen is to say I agree, let it be, truly. It is to be in full accord with what has just been said. It is to make the confession of someone else your own confession. It is to take personal responsibility for the truths you’ve just heard.

what the creed is

This is about as short a summary statement as you can get for the Christian faith. This is the most basic attempt at recognizing the essentials of our faith, but it is also the most ancient and the most universally agreed upon by Christians.
this is just a summary statement of some of the highlights that the Bible teaches.
we call these essentials of faith. While there is some doctrine we can disagree on and still call each other brothers, these are not those things.
the reason for that isn’t because we just trust a creed written by some men a couple thousand years ago, but because we have recognized and affirm that this creed accurately represents what the Word of God says.
But know that this is only a summary, and there is so much more

there’s so much more

the Bible is the word of God, perfect in everything it says. There is a depth of wisdom within it that cannot be fully exhausted.
as a church, we are committed to these Scriptures. We are committed to diving deeply into them, but not so that we can get saved
we dive deeply together because we have been saved. Because we have seen a God who is love, and because he has given us an opportunity to know him deeply.
but we can’t arrive at this deep knowledge by ourselves.
We need to labor in this word together, encourage one another, challenge one another, building one another up by the things we find in the word.
if you’re planning on waiting until next year at camp to get back into the Bible, its like you’re waiting until next year to take another breath. Don’t suffocate your spirit by trying to live this life and walk this walk alone.
walk with us, study the word with us, dive deep with us, and learn to love God with us.
After I confess to believe these things to you, if you join with me by accepting this creed, respond by saying “amen”
all those who truly confess and believe this, know for certain that you are a Christian, Christ has made you his own, and the life you now live is in service to him.
commit yourself to God, and come walk with all the other people who are doing the same thing, his church.
