Other things one would consider worthy to fight for include: Your family, political ideology, your integrity and convictions, social status, cultural ideology, etc.

Not only are we to fight for these things, our conviction is so strong that we’re willing to die for some of these things. THIS IS THE HILL I AM WILLING TO DIE ON.

What Does God Consider a Good Fight?

2 Timothy 4:7 ESV

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

Note the definite article “the” in THE good fight.

This means a certain Fight, a specific Fight - not just any fight. What then is THE GOOD FIGHT

Paul’s mentions what the good fight is in his first letter to Timothy

1 Timothy 6:12 ESV

Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called and about which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

Philippians 1:6 ESV

And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.

Fighting Fear with God's Perfect Love

God’s PERFECT AGAPE LOVE can be summed-up this way:

Romans 5:8 ESV

but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

2 Timothy 1:7 ESV

for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.

This affliction of fear is not from God

He gave us a spirit of power and love and self-control

Do We Really Need the God We Want?

Here’s an unwelcomed truth – You don’t need the God you want.

You need the one True God

Let’s be honest with ourselves, what kind of God do you we really want? (Uncle Deity)

Coddles me, gives me whatever I want, and make my life super easy.

That kind of God will lead me to my complete and utter destruction.

The God I need calls me in a life of self-sacrifice. – not a life free of suffering, free of burdens and free of sickness, and everything is great every day and all the time.
