Prayer for illumination

Sermon Introduction: How far are you willing to go (work, college, vacation)?

FCF: How far am I willing to go to love another believer?

Proposition: I will love one another until it takes me to the cross of Christ.

I. The journey to loving another begins at new life in Christ (1 John 3:11-15)

II. You walk the path of love by taking up death and setting aside your life (1 John 3:16-21)

Purchasing groceries: Nourishment

Purchasing provisions: Protection

Caring for shut-ins: Visitation

Inviting over to your home: Hospitality

III. You know your love can take you farther because it belongs to God (1 John 3:22-24).

IV. Come, abide in God and follow his love to Christ's cross.
