In 1845 the Southern Baptist Convention, us, commissioned the first missionary to China.

China had sort of opened up to the rest of the world at this point.

And as every good baptists would say, we need the gospel to go there. ‘So what did we do? we sent an Man named Samuel C. Clopton.

So let’s think about it, let’s say you are being sent on mission. What are you taking with you?

Context - What are we called to be as followers of Christ?

v.3-4 what is a Christian? What is follower? Humility is the hallmark

v.5-7 Christian Posture. What are we called to do? Make disciples. How?3 Be servants and Missionaries.

v.8-10 Point People to the Cross.
