Power over Nature

Luke 8:22-25

Context: Jesus has just spent the day teaching throughout the region. He told them of the Parable of the Sower, explaining the Parable to His disciples, and explained anyone who keeps His commands will be His brother, and mother.

“How far down do you want to sit?” the usher asked the old lady.

Her reply was, “all the way down, because I am tired.”

We all get there, we get tired from that day. Some of us get home and kick off our shoes and just relax in that comfy chair. Others, it might be a food, or a sitcom that we veggie in. I enjoy time with family and friends and just forgetting that day all together and focus on what is important. Jesus’ ideal was to be with His disciples on the water where nobody else was.

You see Christ is showing us after a long day, it’s okay to relax with those who He has brought into our lives. We need this ability to be able to just unwind.
