Stop trying, start training
Stop trying, start training
The world is selling us a False Gospel
Have nothing to do with the lies and silly thinking of the world but instead train yourself for Godliness
I & II Thessalonians, I & II Timothy, Titus, Philemon 2. Warnings and Directions (4:7–11)
The Greek word gymnazo is translated “train.” It means to exercise ourselves. Doing this takes discipline and purposeful decision. Nobody ever wakes up “trained” or stumbles into exercise. The
Its not trying its training
Why Train?
“It holds the promise for the present life and also for the life to come”
YOU HAVE A HOPE, we have our hope set on the LIVING God
Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.
We often this that this is a verse that we should quote at others. Like if someone starts looking down on you for your youth you look at them and say “Stop dont look down on my for my youth”. But see Paul is not talking to those people. He’s talking to Timothy.
― C.S. Lewis
“Our cause is never more in danger than when a human, no longer desiring, but still intending, to do our Enemy's will, looks round upon a universe from which every trace of Him seems to have vanished, and asks why he has been forsaken, and still obeys.”
Trying = Want, I want this
Training = Need, training says you have an awareness of your deep need
If its based on what you want, when another want comes in and outweighs that want you will fall.
When you have a training mind set you can look beyond your want to see your need.
When training it also matters what you eat. What you consume will impact how you train. What you consume impacts the success of your training.
I want the church to look at y’all and say dang we need to step up our game
